Abstract

PURPOSE: To maintain same steering car performance all the time regardless of continuous speed, by actuating a flow rate controller for adjusting working fluid fed to a power steering mechanism in response to the output of a car speed sensor.
CONSTITUTION: The output of a car speed sensor 1 is input to a control circuit 2, and signals corresponding to the input are put out to a flow rate controller 3. The flow rate controller 3 feeds working fluid from an oil pressure source 4 to a power steering mechanism 5 in response to input signals so that flow rate be in inverse proportion to car speed. As the flow rate controller 3, a float control valve, etc. electromagnetically operated, which are provided with a pressure compensation mechanism, are used. Consequently, feed pressure to the power steering mechanism is reduced in inverse proportion to the increase of car speed, thus obtaining same feeling as in case of low speed, then maintaining same steering car characteristic without regard to car speed.
