PURPOSE: Effective preparation of 1,4-glcoldiester from butadiene and acetic acid, comprosing recycling raw materials the pbutadiene and/or acetic acid obtained by the theremal treatment of the residue in the presence of an acid as a catalyst, said residue bying obtained by separating the 1,4-glycoldiester from the isomer mixture.
