Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow tip parts of a terminal group to easily pass through terminal holes without adding a bending process in a mounting structure wherein terminals of display elements are passed through the terminal holes of a printed board for being soldered. SOLUTION: Two kinds of plural guide holes 80a, 80b having a different tilt angle of a tilt slide surface 81 from each other are alternately arranged on a holder 8 interposed between a display element main body of a vacuum fluorescent tube 5 and a printed board 9, and when the vacuum fluorescent tube 5 is assembled on the holder 8, the terminal 7 group projected in a line form from the side part of the display element main body 6 to the rear side are made to slide along the tilt slide surface 81. Thus, the terminal 7 group is automatically bent so as to be arranged in staggered manner.

2. Description of the Related Art A terminal-equipped display element such as a vacuum fluorescent tube or an LCD used as a display element for a vehicle is provided with a large number of terminals projecting rearward from the display element body in a row. It is mounted by inserting it into a terminal insertion hole of a printed circuit board and soldering. Here, as shown in FIG. 7, each terminal 2 projecting straight backward from the display element main body 1 via the L-shaped base end 2 a is inserted into the terminal insertion hole 3 a of the printed circuit board 3 as it is. Land 3
In some cases, the display element is mounted on the outer peripheral portion of the printed circuit board, and it is not preferable to apply dip solder to lands near the outer peripheral edge of the printed circuit board. In such a case, as shown in FIG. 8, a bending process for decentering the tip portion of each terminal 2 is performed in advance. That is, if the distal end portion 2b of each terminal 2 is shifted from the horizontal portion in the drawing of the base end portion 2a by this distance, the terminal insertion hole 3a of the printed circuit board 3 is also shifted by the distance d in a direction away from the outer peripheral edge. Therefore, the operation of soldering the tip 2b of the terminal 2 to the land 3b is not hindered.

Conventionally, a spacer member (not shown) is interposed between the display element main body 1 and the printed board 3, and the display element main body 1 is floated from the surface of the printed board 3 to some extent by the spacer member. In addition, measures have been widely adopted to protect the terminal by inserting each terminal 2 into a guide hole of the spacer member while protecting the terminal 2 from the height.

However, the prior art in which each terminal 2 of such a display device with terminals is bent into a shape as shown in FIG. 8 and then mounted is costly due to an additional bending step. In addition to this, the tip 2b of each terminal 2 comes behind the display element body 1 by bending, so that it is difficult to insert the tip 2b into the guide hole of the spacer member. There was a problem that assembly workability was poor.

Recently, the pitch (terminal pitch) of the terminals 2 protruding from the display element body 1 has tended to become smaller and smaller, but the adjacent distance between the tips 2b of the terminals 2 arranged in a row has become smaller. In addition, the adjacent space between the terminal insertion holes 3a formed in a row on the printed circuit board 3 is also narrowed, so that a sufficient space for avoiding a short circuit after soldering between the adjacent lands 3b is secured. Things have become increasingly difficult, and some improvement has been desired.

According to the present invention, when a terminal group of a display element is inserted into a holder interposed between a display element main body and a printed circuit board and functioning as a spacer, the terminal group slides on its own. A number of guide holes are provided so that desired bending can be automatically performed by sliding along the moving surface. When a display element with terminals is mounted on a printed circuit board using such a holder, the tip portion of the terminal group can be arranged at a predetermined position without adding a bending step, and assembling workability is also improved.

A plurality of two types of guide holes having different inclination angles of the inclined sliding surface are alternately arranged on the holder, and the tip end portions of the terminal groups projecting from these two types of guide holes are staggered. If the terminal pitch is set so that the terminal lands on the printed circuit board are narrow, even if the terminal pitch on the base end side of the terminal group is small, the terminal insertion holes on the printed circuit board can be arranged to some extent. It is easy to secure a desired adjacent interval between the two, which ensures reliability.

In one embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 to 5, a vacuum fluorescent tube 5 as a display element is configured by protruding a large number of terminals 7 from the side surface of a display element main body 6 in a rearward row. Each of the terminals 7 is inserted into a guide hole 80 of a holder 8 having a spacer function.
0 of the terminal 7 protruding from the printed circuit board 9
Is mounted on the surface of the printed circuit board 9 by soldering (dip soldering) to the land 9b through the terminal insertion hole 9a. At the stage of a single component before the holder 8 is assembled, the vacuum fluorescent tube 5 is formed such that each terminal 7 projects straight rearward from the upper end of the display element main body 6 via the L-shaped base end 7a. 2 (see FIG. 2), but as shown by the chain line in FIG. 2, at the mounting stage, the terminal 7 is bent into a shape that is slightly or greatly inclined diagonally downward. However, since such bending is performed automatically when the vacuum fluorescent tube 5 is assembled to the holder 8, it is not necessary to add a bending step. Reference numerals 8a and 8b in the figure denote positioning pieces projecting from the front side of the holder 8 for fitting the display element body 6, and reference numerals 8c and 8b.
Reference numeral 8d denotes a locking piece protruding from the rear side of the holder 8 to be attached to the printed circuit board 9.

The structure of the holder 8 will be described in detail. The holder 8 is a synthetic resin member interposed between the display element main body 6 and the printed circuit board 9.
It has a spacer function of disposing the display element body 6 at a predetermined distance in front of the printed circuit board 9. Further, the terminal 7 inserted into the holder 8 has its own inclined sliding surface 8.
A large number of guide holes 80 (guide holes 80a and 80b) capable of forming into a shape along 1 are provided,
The guide holes 80 enable each terminal 7 to be bent and protected after mounting. That is, since each guide hole 80 is provided with the inclined sliding surface 81 inclined from one opening end to the other opening end, when the display element body 6 is assembled to the holder 8,
When the terminal 7 is inserted into and pushed into the guide hole 80 from the opening end on the front side, the terminal 7 slides along the inclined sliding surface 81 and is bent.

In addition, the holder 8 has two types of guide holes 80a, 80a, and 90b having different inclination angles of the inclined sliding surface 81.
80b are alternately arranged, so that FIG.
As shown in (b), the terminal 7 inserted into the guide hole 80a in which the inclination angle of the inclined sliding surface 81 is small is bent into a shape that is inclined obliquely downward and small, and the guide in which the inclined angle of the inclined sliding surface 81 is large. The terminal 7 inserted into the hole 80b is bent into a shape that is greatly inclined obliquely downward. Therefore, as shown in FIG. 3, the arrangement of the guide holes 80 on the front side of the holder 8 is set such that the interval between the guide holes 80 is small in accordance with the terminal pitch, but on the rear side of the holder 8 as shown in FIG. In addition, the opening ends of the guide holes 80 are arranged in a staggered manner, and the adjacent distance is set to be wide. Therefore, when the group of terminals 7 is inserted into the group of guide holes 80 from the front side of the holder 8 and the bending process is performed by the inclined sliding surface 81, the distal end portions 7b of the terminals 7 also have a staggered arrangement, and the base end portion 7a The terminal pitch on the tip 7b side is wider than the terminal pitch on the side. However, since the terminals 7 which are inserted two by two at both ends in the longitudinal direction of the holder 8 have a relatively wide terminal pitch in advance and do not need to be arranged in a staggered manner, the guide holes 80 for inserting the terminals 7 at these both ends are provided. Are all guide holes 80b.
The terminal insertion holes 9 a of the printed circuit board 9 are arranged in a zigzag pattern so as to correspond to the opening ends on the back side of the guide holes 80 of the holder 8, and the locking pieces 8 c and 8 d of the holder 8 are When the holder 8 is attached to the printed circuit board 9 by being hooked on a locking hole (not shown), each guide hole 80
And the terminal insertion holes 9a overlap with each other.

As described above, according to the present embodiment, when the display element body 6 is assembled to the holder 8 provided with a large number of guide holes 80 having the inclined sliding surfaces 81, the tips of the terminals 7 projecting from the respective guide holes 80. The portion 7b is inserted into the terminal insertion hole 9a of the printed circuit board 9, and the tip 7b is soldered to the land 9b so that the vacuum fluorescent tube 5 is connected to the printed circuit board 9.
It has a structure that is mounted on the front side of the device. And
When the vacuum fluorescent tube 5 is attached to the holder 8, each guide hole 80 is automatically designed to bend the terminal 7 inserted therein into a shape along its own inclined sliding surface 81. The distal end portion 7b of the terminal group 7 can be arranged at a predetermined position away from the outer peripheral edge of the printed circuit board 9 without adding a bending step, and assembling workability is also improved.
