Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the accuracy of connector installing position by furnishing an engagement means due to combination of a protrusion and recess provided on one inner side-face of an opening and the insertion part, and engaging them with each other using this means. CONSTITUTION:An insertion part 11 formed at the edge 10a of a printed circuit board 10 on which electronic parts are placed, is inserted from the opening side of a housing 3 of a surface-mounted type connector 1. At inserting the two side plates 3a, 3b of the connector 1 are fitted in notches 12, 12 partitioning the insertion part 11, that provides rough location. When insertion proceeds, a boss 7 on the inner wall of the housing 3 contacts the front end of the insertion part 11, which gets over the boss 7 under guidance of an inclined surface 7a formed thereon. At this time, the bottom plate 3b of the housing 3 is pressed downward for another connector 2, but because a groove 6 is provided in a block plate 3c, the bottom plate 3b deflects downward. A further insertion causes fit of the boss 7 in a hole 13 provided in the insertion part 11, and deflection of the bottom plate 3b is eliminated. Thus the housing 3 is located relative to the insertion part 11.

[Prior Art] Reflow soldering is used as a method for surface mounting electronic components on a printed wiring board (hereinafter referred to as a printed circuit board). This reflow soldering method involves applying cream solder to the wiring tabs on the printed circuit board, placing electronic components on the cream solder using an automatic mounting machine, and then blowing hot air to melt the solder. These electronic components are arranged and fixed on a printed circuit board.

According to the above-mentioned automatic mounting machine, it is necessary to hold the edge of the printed circuit board and place the electronic components etc. in a state where the printed circuit board is fixed. Therefore, when mounting a connector on the edge of the printed circuit board, it is necessary to attach the connector after automatic mounting of electronic components is completed. In other words, in order to place a connector on the edge of a printed circuit board, reflow soldering leaves the electronic components mounted before processing and attaches screws, pins, etc. to the printed circuit board that is not yet fixed to the board. Fix only the connector using
After that, reflow soldering was done.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] However, with the above-mentioned conventional connectors that are attached to printed circuit boards using screws, pins, etc., vibrations and shocks are generated in the printed circuit board itself when the connector is attached. A problem arises in that the placed electronic components move, making subsequent glue flow soldering impossible. Therefore, the attachment of the connector and the reflow soldering must often be carried out in a separate process after the electronic components have been reflow soldered, resulting in a problem that the number of manufacturing steps increases accordingly. In addition, since the connector is fixed to the printed circuit board with screws or pins, and then the contact connections are reflow soldered, the work becomes complicated, and the electronic components soldered in the previous process may be moved due to reheating. There was also the problem of deterioration.

Therefore, in order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the present invention has been devised so that the connector can be attached to the printed circuit board without generating vibration or shock during fixation, and can be easily attached to the printed circuit board without using screws or pins. The purpose is to provide a mounting structure for surface-mounted electrical connectors and printed wiring boards that can be fixed, improve the positional accuracy of connector mounting, and apply reflow soldering laws. .

Next, the electronic parts! ! The insertion portion 11 formed on the edge 10a of the placed printed circuit board 10 is inserted from the opening side of the housing portion 3 of the surface mount type connector 1, as shown in FIG. 2(a). When inserting, both side plates 3a, 3a of connector 1
are fitted into the notches 12, 12 that partition the insertion portion 11, and approximate positioning is performed. As the insertion progresses, the protrusion 7 on the inner wall surface of the housing part 3 comes into contact with the front end of the insertion part 11 as shown in FIG. 2(b), but using the slope 7a formed on the protrusion 7 as a guide, The insertion portion 11 climbs over the protrusion 7. At this time, the bottom plate 3b of the housing part 3 is pressed downward against the connector part 2, but a groove part 6 is provided in the closing plate 3c that connects the connector part 2 and the bottom plate 3b, so that the bottom plate 3b can be deformed to some extent. Therefore, the bottom plate 3b is bent downward as shown in FIG. 2(C). As the insertion progresses further, as shown in Figure 2(d),
As the protrusion 7 fits into the hole 13 of the insertion part 11, the bending of the bottom plate 3b is released and the housing part 3 recovers its original shape. Thereby, the housing part 3 is positioned and fixed with respect to the insertion part 11.

[Claims] A printed wiring board having a wiring pattern coated with cream solder on at least one side thereof and having an insertion portion at one end, and a contact portion for contacting a contact of a mating connector at one end. , a contact having a connecting portion connected to the wiring pattern of the printed wiring board at the other end; and an arrangement in which the contact is arranged so that the connecting portion of the contact extends rearward so as to be connected to the wiring pattern. A surface comprising a connector part having a hole, and a housing part formed integrally with the connector part and in parallel with the connecting part, and having an opening into which an insertion part of the printed wiring board is inserted. A mounting type electrical connector having a convex part and a concave part, and provided at an insertion part of the printed wiring board and an inner surface of an opening of the electrical connector, and the combination of the convex part and the concave part makes the insertion part and an engaging means for mutually engaging the opening and the electrical connector.
