Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture two different shape slider elements by using only one kind of metallic mold by forming two split slider elements by means of cutting one slider mold. SOLUTION: One slider mold 20 is formed from one kind of ceramic material with one kind of metallic mold. On the top of this slider mold 20, air bearing surfaces(ABS) 23, 24 are formed to come into slidable contact with a magnetic disk, and a space 25 is formed inside for incorporating a core, a bobbin, and a winding. This slider mold 20 is split into two slider elements 21, 22 by cutting it along a cut line 26. Since joining surfaces 21A, 22A appear along the cut line 26 on the two-piece slider elements, it is possible to fix the core interposed between the two as in a slider formed as another part.
