2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, as a urine treatment material for pets, sand or zeolite (Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 57-129622) which is used alone.
No. 1), bentonite, pulp, etc. and granulated by adding water (Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 51-133885, Japanese Patent Publication No. 54)
No. 24945, Japanese Utility Model Publication No. Sho 54-17675,
Nos. 5-132753 and JP-B-3-38811) are used, but each of them lacks water-absorbing and deodorizing properties and does not have satisfactory performance. That is, the sand has no water absorption and leaves an odor. The paper is too light and generates static electricity, so pets can stick it on their feet or body and scatter them around the room. In addition, paper has low water absorption of urine, hardly clumps, and has no deodorizing property. Zeolite is excellent in deodorizing properties of ammonia, but has slightly lower water absorption. Bentonite is easy to handle because it swells and clumps with use, but lacks deodorizing properties. In addition, zeolite and bentonite do not become combustible waste and cannot be disposed of in that field.

In order to solve these problems, natural organic substances such as rice husks, peanut shells, and wood powder are mixed with a superabsorbent resin, solidified with a binder and granulated (Japanese Patent Publication No. 3-46089). ), Which absorbs urine with a highly water-absorbent resin and has a deodorizing effect with a natural organic substance. However, there is no working example of the invention, and the deodorizing effect is not specifically shown.

[0004] Further, there is a granulation of papermaking waste and a superabsorbent resin or a mixture of these and a water-soluble inorganic salt (Japanese Patent Publication No. 3-6767). It is said to improve later tackiness, but lacks deodorizing properties. Even so, it is said that the water-soluble inorganic salts can increase the specific gravity and provide a scattering prevention effect. However, when performing toilet treatment, there is a risk of causing water pollution problems. A similar product obtained by adding two types of superabsorbent resins to pulp or paper powder (Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No. 2-265968). Gelling and viscosity increase after absorption, but lack in deodorizing properties. .

[0005] In addition, there is a method in which bentonite powder is adhered to the surface of a granular material made of paper sludge and a water-absorbing polymer for caking (Japanese Patent Publication No. 3-32967). Therefore, they adhere to each other and form agglomerates, which hinders the water absorption of papermaking sludge and degrades deodorization. A similar product is obtained by granulating a mixture of paper powder, superabsorbent resin and bentonite (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 1-191626).

A beet moss granule coated with a paper powder containing a superabsorbent polymer added thereto, and a beet moss further coated with zeolite powder, activated fly ash or activated carbon powder as a deodorizing aid. There has also been proposed one containing about 3 to 5% (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 8-308420). Its features are absorption of moisture and odor and shape retention after moisture absorption. However, the shape retention is actually not good, and it is troublesome to dispose of the cat. There is also a drawback that the urine treatment material after urine absorption is scattered due to the habit of kicking, and there is a practical problem.

In order to solve this problem, the present inventor coated a granular inorganic porous material or a pulp sludge with a mixture of paper powder and superabsorbent resin powder as a pet urine treatment material. As a manufacturing method, a mixture of paper powder and superabsorbent resin powder was coated on a diaphragm with water added to either a granular inorganic porous material or pulp sludge, and granulation was performed. In these, the inorganic porous body is any of zeolite, perlite, pumice, akadama, Kanuma soil, and activated carbon, and the crosslinked sodium polyacrylate is most preferable as the superabsorbent resin powder. I found it.

BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION In the present invention, a granular inorganic porous material or pulp sludge can be used as a core material of a urine treatment material. Examples of the granular inorganic porous material include zeolite, perlite, pumice, Akadama, and Kanuma. Earth, activated carbon, cristobalite,
Sepiolite, diatomaceous earth, and the like. Pumice also includes volcanic rock, and diatomaceous earth is used after sintering. In addition, as natural organic powder, wood flour, rice husk, peanut husks and shells can be used as the core material. These have a deodorizing property and a water absorbing property, and zeolite has a large deodorizing effect especially on ammonia. However, these have limited water absorption,
Use alone is not sufficient.

However, since the paper powder alone does not adhere to each other and to the surface of the granular inorganic porous material such as zeolite or the pulp sludge, the superabsorbent resin powder is interposed. Many types of superabsorbent resin powders are known, including crosslinked sodium polyacrylate and starch-sodium acrylate graft copolymers, copolymers of vinyl alcohol and acrylic acid, and as such, It has a very good water absorption capacity and has the property of absorbing a large amount of water and gelling. In particular, it has been found that crosslinked sodium polyacrylate is most suitable for the purposes of the present invention.
In order to adhere paper powder to each other and to the surface of pulp sludge and granular inorganic porous material such as zeolite, a small amount of pulp sludge is added to pulp sludge and zeolite as core material in the manufacturing process of urine treatment material. Of water must be added.

As the urine-treating material for pets of the present invention, while maintaining the balance between water absorption and deodorizing properties, the optimum use amount of relatively expensive paper powder and super-absorbent resin powder is selected, and the size is easy to handle. Into a granular material. From this viewpoint, a granular inorganic porous material such as zeolite or a pulp sludge serving as a core material having a particle size of 0.2 to 10 mm is used. Water is added to the core material in advance, but the water causes the paper powder to adhere to each other via the superabsorbent resin powder, and at the same time, causes the paper powder to adhere to the surface of the granular inorganic porous material such as zeolite or the pulp sludge. Indispensable for coating. In order to achieve this object, it has been found effective to add an appropriate amount of water to such an extent that the surface of the granular inorganic porous material such as zeolite or the pulp sludge is wetted. Paper powder or highly water-absorbent resin powder that coats a granular inorganic porous material such as zeolite or pulp sludge has a particle size of 0.5.
mm or less is suitable. Coupling of these mutual bonds and granular inorganic porous materials such as zeolite and pulp sludge,
In other words, the formation of the granular material used as urine treatment material for pets is performed by supplying a granular inorganic porous material such as zeolite as a core material or a mixture of pulp sludge, paper powder and superabsorbent resin powder to a commercially available circular vibrator. After granulation, the dried product is used.
