DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a PET excrement treatment material made by granulating and drying a mixture of paper waste and a superabsorbent resin.

Disposal of pet excrement has conventionally been carried out by using sand, placing the sand in a container, and replacing the sand with the excrement as appropriate. However, sand does not absorb water, so it is unsanitary to leave it as it is, and the odor of excrement remains forever, so it has to be replaced every time one defecates. Moreover, when the pets defecate, they stir up the sand, causing the sand to fly around and make the room dirty.

In order to solve these problems, it has been proposed to add water to pulp as appropriate and then dry and mold the pulp to form a small granular material. In excrement disposal materials made of this pulp, the part that absorbs excrement becomes solid after drying, so it is possible to remove only that part and place it in a flush toilet, etc., for disposal. It's getting very easy. However, the problem of water absorption still remains and the problem of remaining wet for a long time has not been solved.

The present invention has been made in view of the above-mentioned problems, and involves granulating and drying a mixture of paper manufacturing waste and super absorbent resin, or a mixture obtained by replacing a portion of paper manufacturing waste with water-soluble inorganic salts. Regarding PET's excrement treatment material, the superabsorbent resin quickly absorbs a large amount of water, so only a small amount of water is absorbed, and the surface can remain smooth for a long time. Furthermore, the excrement treatment material of the present invention has high water absorption properties and is composed of water-dispersible or water-active substances, so when disposed of in a toilet etc., the amount to be disposed of along with excrement is smaller than that of pulp. Only a small amount is required, making it very economical.

In addition, because paper waste has a shorter fiber length than pulp, it hardens densely during granulation, resulting in a higher density of granules; paper waste also contains various fillers such as clay; Water-soluble inorganic salts have a higher specific gravity than pulp, so the granulated and dried excrement treatment material of the present invention has a high density, so even if the pet stirs it up when defecating, it can only be made from pulp. It is less likely to scatter compared to conventional products.

The paper waste used in the present invention is, for example, discharged sludge or fine powder discharged from a pulp mill, and is mainly comprised of fibers with a length of about 1 mm or less. These paper wastes are difficult to recycle and have traditionally caused problems in disposal, so they can be obtained very cheaply.
Suitable as a material for excrement disposal.

The amount of SAP added is preferably 3 to 15%, and 5 to 15% when water-soluble inorganic salts are blended. If it is less than that, the water absorption will be insufficient, and if it exceeds 15%, the water added when mixing raw materials will be added to SAP. If too much is absorbed, the fluidity necessary for granulation is lost, making granulation difficult. Furthermore, if a large amount of water is added to provide fluidity, the added mixture becomes sticky and granulation becomes difficult, and even if granulation is possible, it takes a long time to dry, which is uneconomical.

The ratio of SAP increases and the mixture becomes less fluid, making granulation difficult. Furthermore, if the content of water-soluble inorganic salts exceeds 80%, the amount of paper waste added will decrease, resulting in a very viscous mixture, making granulation difficult.

The processing material of the present invention is prepared by adding an appropriate amount of water to paper waste, water-soluble inorganic salts, and superabsorbent resin to give them the fluidity necessary for granulation, mixing them, granulating them, and drying them.
For the granulation method, an ordinary extruder is used, and the die hole and cut length of the extruder are selected so that the granules have a spherical shape with a size of 3 to 10 mm after drying. Further, drying can be done by heating or air drying.
