Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.複数のキャリアを有する多重キャリア・ワイヤレス通信システムにおいて呼 トラヒックのバランスをダイナミックにとるための方法であって、前記ワイヤレ ス通信システムは加入者に応答する、方法であって: 前記加入者からの要求を受信すると、第1キャリアに関連する第1通信資源に 前記加入者を割り当てる段階; 負荷メトリックを監視する段階;および 前記負荷メトリックに基づいて、前記加入者を前記第1キャリアから第2キャ リアにハンドオフする段階; によって構成されることを特徴とする方法。 2.前記多重キャリア・ワイヤレス通信システムは、符号分割多元接続(CDM A)スペクトル拡散通信システムであることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。 3.前記第1キャリアおよび前記第2キャリアは複数の通信資源からなり、各キ ャリア上の通信資源の数は、所定の品質レベルを維持するために必要なビット・ エネルギ/システム雑音ライズ(Eb/No)によって制限されることを特徴と する請求項1記載の方法。 4.前記監視される負荷メトリックは、前記ワイヤレス通信システム内の複数の キャリアのそれぞれで観察されるシステム雑音ライズ(No)を表すことを特徴 とする請求項1記載の方法。 5.前記負荷メトリックは、前記ワイヤレス通信システム内の複数のキャリアの それぞれの間における加入者の分散を表すことを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法 。 6.前記負荷メトリックは、前記ワイヤレス通信システム内の複数のキャリアの それぞれにおいて未使用の通信資源の割合を表すことを特徴とする請求項1記載 の方法。 7.複数のキャリアと通信する複数の加入者を有する多重キャリア・ワイヤレス 通信システムにおいて、呼トラヒック(負荷)のバランスをダイナミックにとる ための方法であって: 前記複数の加入者からの一加入者を、前記加入者からの要求を受信後に、前記 複数のキャリアのうちの第1キャリアに割り当てる段階; 前記ワイヤレス通信システムについて負荷メトリックを監視する段階; 前記負荷メトリックに基づいて、前記加入者を前記第1キャリアから第2キャ リアにハンドオフする段階; によって構成されることを特徴とする方法。 8.一つまたは複数のキャリアと通信する複数の加入者を有する多重キャリア・ ワイヤレス通信システムにおいて、呼トラヒック(負荷)のバランスをダイナミ ックにとるための方法であって: 反復的に負荷メトリックを監視する段階;および 前記複数の加入者のうちの優先加入者を、前記複数のキ ャリアのうち第1キャリアから第2キャリアにハンドオフする段階であって、前 記ハンドオフする段階は前記負荷メトリックを変更する、段階; によって構成されることを特徴とする方法。 9.前記優先加入者は、前記負荷メトリックに対して好適な影響を有すると判断 されることを特徴とする請求項8記載の方法。 10.多重キャリア・ワイヤレス通信システムの複数のキャリア間で、複数の加 入者のバランスをダイナミックにとるための装置であって: 前記ワイヤレス通信システム内の前記複数のキャリアのうち少なくとも第1キ ャリアおよび第2キャリアについて負荷メトリックを監視する負荷監視装置; 前記複数のキャリアのうち前記第1キャリア上で前記負荷メトリックが閾値に 達したときを識別する判定回路; ハンドオフ候補選択装置であって、前記選択装置は前記第1キャリアから前記 第2キャリアにハンドオフするための優先加入者候補を選択する、ハンドオフ候 補選択装置;および 前記第1キャリアから前記第2キャリアへの前記優先加入者候補のハンドオフ を実行するキャリア置換装置; によって構成されることを特徴とする装置。
