Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a detergent which has excellent ability for solubilizing water and is capable of giving a homogeneous pre treatment agent from a petroleum-based solvent by formulating a sulfosuccinate salt, a phosphate ester, an alkanolamine, a sorbitan ester of a fatty acid and a petroleum-based solvent. SOLUTION: A sulfosuccinate salt of formula I (wherein R<1> and R<2> are each 6-18C alkyl or alkenyl; and X is an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal) and a phosphate ester of formula II (wherein R is 8-20C alkyl or alkenyl; R' is -OH or RO-(CH2 CH2 O)n -; and n is 1-6 on the average) are employed. Preferably are formulated 5-30 wt.% of the sulfosuccinate salt, 5-20 wt.% of the phosphate ester, 1-5 wt.% of an alkanolamine, 10-50 wt.% of a sorbitan ester of a fatty acid and 15-79 wt.% of a petroleum-based solvent. As the alkanolamine, triethanolamine is particularly preferable. Preferably, the sorbitan ester of a fatty acid is one having an HLB value of about 4-10.
