Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To saddle stitching bookbind without using a staple or a wire by executing a line paste on a centerline of sheets fed in a predetermined order except a final sheet, accurately accumulating the sheets for one book, and pressing a pasted art while doubling the sheets at the centerline as a folding line. SOLUTION: The line paste type saddle binding bookbinding machine comprises an inlet sensor 3, a sheet leading end reading sensor 5, a paste diffusing nozzle 6 and a sheet delivery roll 7 on a belt conveyor 2, a folding knife 9 for sequentially feeding a cover P1 , texts P2 , P3 ,..., and a final sheet P10 from a feeder 1 provided at the inlet of the conveyor 2 and dropping sheets executed with a line paste on centerlines xx of all the sheets in an accumulating part 8 on the line xx, a folding roll 10 and a pressing roll 11.

Means for Solving the Problems Cut paper is sent one by one in the order from the front cover to the main body with the front side facing down (inverted),
Except for the final paper, apply the glue on the center line of the cut paper with a nozzle controlled by a sensor, and accumulate until it reaches a predetermined number of sheets for one book. Finally, fold the center line as a fold and fold it into two. Press the department and bind the book.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS Paper to be bound includes various types of sheets, such as a sheet by an ordinary printing press, a sheet printed by a cut sheet printer, or a sheet cut by printing after being printed by a continuous form printer. In addition, there are various types of paper feeders that can be used, and depending on the case, combinations of these different feeders are conceivable. However, in any case, the paper bound by the bookbinding machine has a front page. It is assumed that the paper is fed upside down (face down).

Next, as shown in FIG. 1, these sheets are linearly fed from a feeder 1 onto a belt conveyor 2, and
An entrance sensor 3 provided at the entrance of the conveyor reads the number of sheets passing therethrough and the mark 4 printed on the center line xx of the final sheet and the like. Further, a sensor 5 for reading the leading edge of the sheet and a glue blowing nozzle 6 on xx are provided on the conveyor. The glue nozzle 6 is controlled by the sensor 5 to apply a wire glue on the xx of the paper to a predetermined length according to the length of the paper. Further, by reading the mark 4 on the last sheet of paper by the sensor 3, the nozzle 6 is controlled to prevent the blowing of glue on this paper. Alternatively, glue blowing is prohibited by the sensor 3 and the preset counter for each number of sheets to be finalized. (See FIG. 2) Thus, as shown in FIG. 2, one sheet of paper having the line glued on the center line of all the sheets except for the final sheet passes through the discharge roll 7 and is collected in one stacking unit 8 having a paper guide. At this stage, the sheet is folded into two by a folding knife 9 that falls on the center line xx and a folding roll 10 immediately below the knife, and a gluing portion is further pressed by a press roll 11 located next to the folding knife 9 to complete the sheet. (FIG. 3).

As described above, according to the present invention, since a wire or a stapler is not used, the drawbacks caused by these are eliminated. In particular, cut the cut paper or continuous paper printed by various printers linked with the computer, turn the cut paper upside down, and send it in the order of cover → body, center line glue → collation → fold → press , Continuous binding with a printer is possible. In addition, by the reading method of the mark printed on the paper by the sensor, it is possible to bind books with random pages printed with individual data, books with different numbers of pages and books, and books with a small variety of books, which were difficult with the conventional technology. The present invention is useful for this.

At the entrance of the cut sheet conveyor, there is provided a cut sheet supply device (feeder) that is printed in advance by a printing machine or data printed by a printer and collated in a predetermined order. A sensor that detects the leading edge of the cut sheet and a glue nozzle that is controlled by this and that automatically applies a line glue in a predetermined length and pattern on the center line of the cut sheet are provided. A sensor for reading the number of cut sheets and a mark printed in advance at a predetermined position is provided, and by detecting the predetermined number of cut sheets or the mark, line glue is prohibited on this paper, and furthermore, at the exit of the conveyor. Is provided with an accumulating unit that accumulates the sent cut paper while aligning its four sides. Then, supply of the next cut sheet is stopped, and the center of the book glued by a pair of rubber rolls provided immediately below the knife and the knife on the center line of the book for one book is folded in half. A bookbinding type saddle stitching machine characterized in that bookbinding is automatically performed by providing a pair of press rubber rolls immediately thereafter.
