を乾燥するにあたっては、ファンを駆動すると共にヒー
タに通電し、必要に応じてドラムを駆動し、また吐出口
から水道水を吐出する。すると、ヒータで加熱された空
気がドラムの入口からドラム内に入り、洗濯物の乾燥に
寄与した空気がドラムの出口から循環経路に戻るように
空気がドラムと循環経路との間を循環して洗濯物が乾燥
される。このときドラムの出口から出る空気は水蒸気を
含んだ空気であるが、吐出口から水道水を吐出すること
でドラムの出口から出た空気を冷却し、水蒸気を凝縮さ
せることで除湿して乾燥した空気を得ることができ、乾

の外筒1aと多数の通水孔のある内筒1bとで主体が構
成されており、内筒1bが回転駆動できるようになって
いる。内筒1bの内面の適所には撹拌爪8を設けてあ
る。外筒1aの一端には衣類のような洗濯物を出し入れ
する出し入れ口9を設けてあり、この出し入れ口9はハ
ウジング7の前面に位置させてある。この出し入れ口9
には水密的に閉塞し得る蓋を開閉自在に設けてある。図
2で11は給水弁、12はダンパー、13は脱水モー
タ、14は排水ポンプである。そしてドラム式全自動洗
濯乾燥機の全体的な動作を説明すると次のようになって
いる。蓋を開いてドラム1内に衣類のような洗濯物を投

動力をファン16に伝達するベルト18にて形成されて
いる。除湿手段Cは乾燥用熱交換器5と冷媒を冷却する
冷却装置6と乾燥用熱交換器5と冷却装置6との間で冷
媒を循環させる冷媒循環管路19にて形成されており、
乾燥用熱交換器5は循環経路4内に内装してある。本例
の場合、冷却装置6は冷水発生装置であり、冷媒は冷水
である。しかしてドラム1の内筒1b内の洗濯物の洗
濯、濯ぎ、脱水が順次行われた後、乾燥工程に入り、加
熱手段Bであるヒータ15で加熱されると共に送風手段

て図1の矢印aのように送られた空気はヒータ15にて
加熱されて矢印bのように送られ、入口2からドラム1
内に加熱された空気が供給され、ドラム1内の洗濯物に
加熱した空気が当てられ、洗濯物の乾燥に寄与して水蒸
気を含んだ空気はドラム1の出口3から出て矢印cのよ
うに送られ、この水蒸気を含んだ空気が乾燥用熱交換器
5に当たることで冷却されて乾燥用熱交換器5に結露し
て除湿され、除湿されて乾燥した空気は矢印dのように
ファン16に至り、ファン16から再び矢印aのように
ヒータ15に送られるように循環する。そしてこの空気
の循環により洗濯物が乾燥される。除湿手段Cでは冷却
装置6から乾燥用熱交換器5に矢印eのように冷媒が送
られると共に乾燥用熱交換器5から冷却装置6に矢印f
のように冷媒が戻るように循環し、乾燥用熱交換器5が
冷却される。乾燥用熱交換器5に水蒸気を含んだ空気が
当たることで凝縮して結露した水滴は図1に示すように
乾燥用熱交換器5から落ち、矢印hのように循環経路4
を通って出口2からドラム1内に入り、排水ポンプ14
にて外部に排水される。上記のように除湿されるが、乾
燥用熱交換器5が冷却装置6にて冷却されるために、夏
季等でも十分に冷却され、除湿した空気は十分に乾燥さ
れ、洗濯物の乾燥の時間が従来に比べて大幅に短縮でき

冷却装置で冷却した冷媒を乾燥用熱交換器に供給して乾
燥用熱交換器を冷却し、低温に冷却された乾燥用熱交換
器に水蒸気を含んだ空気を接触させることより乾燥用熱
交換器に結露させて除湿できるものであって、夏季でも
低温に冷却して効果的に除湿して空気を乾燥でき、洗濯
物の乾燥時間を短縮できるものである。
