Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save the time required for assembly and to enhance the accuracy of dust expulsion at coupling surfaces with an assembly method for coupling a liquid crystal display panel and a back light unit and an assembling jig therefor. SOLUTION: This method includes a first stage plate 6 having a means for positioning the liquid crystal display panel 2 and a detaining means 7 for freely attachably and detachably detaining the upper polarizing plate 1 of the panel 2, a turning means 9 for freely invertably turning this first stage plate 6 by supporting its one side and a second stage plate 10 for holding the surface to be coupled of the back light unit 5 to be temporally coupled to the lower polarizing plate 3 in the inverted position opposite to the lower polarizing plate 3. The see-through inspection of the dust is executed by lighting the back light unit 5 at the time of the temporally coupling. As a result, the failure detect of the panel by handling errors and the disturbance by the dust are lessened and the reliability is improved.

2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, the development of display devices has been remarkable, and in particular, liquid crystal display devices have been actively introduced into the field of OA equipment such as personal computers and word processors because of their low driving voltage and low cost. Since liquid crystal display panels used for these applications are required to display characters and graphics, they are inevitably moving toward large screens, multiple pixels, and high definition, and manufacture high quality liquid crystal display panels with no display defects. In order to achieve this, it is required to remove fine dust remaining on the bonding surface between the lower polarizing plate and the backlight unit of the liquid crystal display panel, for example.

[0006] In the conventional process of attaching and attaching the lower polarizing plate 3 and the backlight unit 5 to the liquid crystal display panel 2, first, the protective film 4 attached to the lower polarizing plate 3 is peeled off, and then the lower polarizing plate 3 is removed. Fine dust adhering to the peeling surface of No. 3 is removed using a peelable adhesive tape or the like. Next, fine dust is also removed from the bonding surface of the backlight unit 5 by the same means, and the lower polarizing plate 3 including the upper polarizing plate 1 and the liquid crystal display panel 2 is turned over by a handling operation. Assembling was performed by connecting to the upper predetermined position.

This temporary connection can be performed by manual operation but can be performed in a state where the first mounting plate holding and holding the upper polarizing plate is turned upside down in a state where the first mounting plate is manually and certainly positioned at a predetermined connection position. If the operation becomes simple and the backlight unit is turned on and dust remains in the fluoroscopic inspection, the first mounting plate is inverted again and the upper polarizing plate is re-locked by the locking means. Therefore, the dust removing process can be returned to the original position where the dust removing process can be performed, thereby simplifying the dust removing process.

1. A method of assembling a liquid crystal display panel in which a backlight unit is coupled to a lower polarizing plate of a liquid crystal display panel sandwiched between an upper polarizing plate and a lower polarizing plate, wherein the positioning unit is fixed on a first mounting plate. Removing dust on the surface to be joined of the lower polarizing plate while holding the upper polarizing plate by means and detachable locking means; and the backlight unit positioned and held on the second mounting plate. Removing the dust from the surface to be combined with the backlight unit; and positioning the lower polarizing plate on the second mounting plate at a position where the first mounting plate holding the upper polarizing plate is turned upside down. Temporarily coupling the backlight unit to the upper polarizing plate, releasing the locking means from the upper polarizing plate, and inverting the first mounting plate back to the original position. Lights up The liquid crystal display panel assembly method of the dust remaining on the coupling surface of the lower polarizing plate and the backlight unit after fluoroscopic inspection, comprising the assembly process to formally bound the lower polarizing plate and the backlight unit.
