Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1. 電磁エネルギの送信バーストのシーケンスを送信してセンサ・フィールド を生成する送信機であって、前記バーストのシーケンスはバースト繰返しレート を有するとともに、各バーストはバースト幅を有しかつ送信機周波数の多数の周 期を持つようにした送信機と、 前記送信機周波数で電磁エネルギを受信する受信機であって、送信されたバー ストをその送信されたバーストの反射波と混合して中間周波数信号を生成するミ キサを有し、その結果、前記バースト幅によりセンサレンジが決まるようにした 受信機と、 前記受信機に結合され且つ前記中間周波数信号に応答する回路であって、前記 センサフィールドの外乱を指示する回路と、を備えたセンサ。 2.前記送信機に結合し、かつ前記中間周波数で送信バーストのシーケンスを変 調する回路を有する請求項1記載のセンサ。 3.前記バーストのシーケンスは前記バースト繰返しレート以下のレートで変調 されている請求項2記載のセンサ。 4.前記バーストのシーケンスは、前記送信機周波数を前記中間周波数における 第1の周波数と第2の周波数との間で変更することにより変調されるとともに、 前記中間周波数は前記バースト繰返しレート以下の値である請求項2記載のセン サ。 5.前記バーストは開始点と終了点を有し、かつほぼ前記開始点の周期とほぼ前 記終了点の周期との間で相対的な位相シフトを有するとともに、前記第1の周波 数における前記バースト幅についての前記相対的な位相シフトは、前記第2の周 波数における前記バースト幅についての前記相対的な位相シフトとは前記センサ レンジで360度未満の値だけ異なる ようにした請求項4記載のセンサ。 6.前記第1の周波数における前記バースト幅についての前記相対的な位相シフ トは、前記第2の周波数における前記バースト幅についての前記相対的な位相シ フトとは特定のセンサレンジで約180度だけ異なるようにした請求項5記載の センサ。 7.前記送信機に結合し、かつ前記バースト幅の調整用の回路を有する請求項1 記載のセンサ。 8.前記送信機に結合し、かつ前記バースト繰返しレートを変調するバーストレ ート変調回路を有する請求項1記載のセンサ。 9.前記バースト繰返しレートは前記送信機周波数未満の値であるとともに、前 記バーストレート変調回路は、前記バーストシーケンスのバーストが変化位相を 持つように前記バースト繰返しレートを変調する請求項8記載のセンサ。 10.前記送信機周波数はギガヘルツのオーダであるとともに、前記バースト繰 返しレートはメガヘルツのオーダである請求項9記載のセンサ。 11.前記送信機および受信機は単一のアンテナを共有する請求項1記載のセン サ。 12.前記送信機は送信アンテナを有するとともに、前記受信機は受信アンテナ を有し、前記送信アンテナおよび受信アンテナは、前記送信バーストが前記受信 アンテナに近接結合して反射波に混合するように取り付けてある請求項1記載の センサ。 13. 電磁エネルギの送信バーストのシーケンスを送信する変調送信機であっ て、前記送信バーストのシーケンスはバースト繰返しレートを有し、各バースト はバースト幅を有しかつ送信機周波数の多数の周期を持ち、前記バーストのシー ケンスは中間周波数で変調されるようにした変調送信機と、 前記送信機周波数の電磁エネルギを受信する受信機であって、送信されたバー ストをその同一の送信されたバーストの反射波と混合して中間周波数信号を生成 するミキサを有し、その結果、前記バースト幅によりそのバースト幅の約半分の センサレンジが決まるようにした受信機と、 前記受信機に結合され且つ前記中間周波数信号に応答する回路であって、前記 センサレンジ内での動きを指示する回路と、を備えたセンサ。 14.前記バーストのシーケンスは前記バースト繰返しレート以下のレートで周 波数変調されている請求項13記載のセンサ。 15.前記バーストのシーケンスは、前記送信機周波数を前記中間周波数におけ る第1の周波数と第2の周波数との間で変更することにより変調される請求項1 3記載のセンサ。 16.前記バーストは開始点と終了点を有し、かつほぼ前記開始点の周期とほぼ 前記終了点の周期との間で相対的な位相シフトを有するとともに、前記第1の周 波数における前記バースト幅についての前記相対的な位相シフトは、前記第2の 周波数における前記バースト幅についての前記相対的な位相シフトとは前記セン サレンジで360度未満の値だけ異なるようにした請求項15記載のセンサ。 17.前記第1の周波数における前記バースト幅についての前記相対的な位相シ フトは、前記第2の周波数における前記バースト幅についての前記相対的な位相 シフトとは特定のセンサレンジで約180度だけ異な るようにした請求項16記載のセンサ。 18.前記送信機に結合し、かつ前記バースト繰返しレートを変調するバースト レート変調回路を有する請求項13記載のセンサ。 19.前記バースト繰返しレートは前記送信機周波数未満の値であるとともに、 前記バーストレート変調回路は、前記バーストシーケンスのバーストが変化位相 を持つように前記バースト繰返しレートを変調する請求項18記載のセンサ。 20.前記送信機周波数はギガヘルツのオーダであるとともに、前記バースト繰 返しレートはメガヘルツのオーダである請求項19記載のセンサ。 21.前記送信機および受信機は単一のアンテナを共有する請求項13記載のセ ンサ。 22.前記送信機は送信アンテナを有するとともに、前記受信機は受信アンテナ を有し、前記送信アンテナおよび受信アンテナは、前記送信バーストが前記受信 アンテナに近接結合して反射波に混合するように取り付けてある請求項13記載 のセンサ。 23. センサフィールドを生成する電磁エネルギの送信バーストのシーケンス を送信する送信機であって、前記送信バーストのシーケンスはランダムに又は疑 似的ランダムに変調されたバースト繰返しレートを有し、各バーストはバースト 幅を有しかつ送信機周波数の多数の周期を持つようにした送信機と、 前記送信機に結合され、且つ中間周波数における少なくとも第1の周波数と第 2の周波数との間で前記送信機周波数を切り換える周波数変調 回路と、 前記送信機周波数の電磁エネルギを受信する受信機であって、送信されたバー ストをその送信されたバーストの反射波と混合して中間周波数信号を生成するミ キサを有し、その結果、前記バースト幅によりセンサレンジが決まるようにした 受信機と、 前記受信機に結合され且つ前記中間周波数信号に応答する回路であって、前記 センサフィールドの外乱を指示する回路と、を備えたセンサ。 24.前記バーストは開始点と終了点を有し、かつほぼ前記開始点の周期とほぼ 前記終了点の周期との間で相対的な位相シフトを有するとともに、前記第1の周 波数における前記バースト幅についての前記相対的な位相シフトは、前記第2の 周波数における前記バースト幅についての前記相対的な位相シフトとは前記セン サレンジで360度未満の値だけ異なるようにした請求項23記載のセンサ。 25.前記第1の周波数における前記バースト幅についての前記相対的な位相シ フトは、前記第2の周波数における前記バースト幅についての前記相対的な位相 シフトとは特定のセンサレンジで約180度だけ異なるようにした請求項24記 載のセンサ。 26.前記バースト繰返しレートは、前記送信機周波数未満の値であり、かつ、 前記バーストシーケンスのバーストが変化位相を持つように変調されている請求 項23記載のセンサ。 27.前記送信機周波数はギガヘルツのオーダであり、前記バースト繰返しレー トはメガヘルツのオーダであり、前記中間周波数はキロヘルツのオーダである請 求項26記載のセンサ。 28.前記送信機および受信機は単一のアンテナを共有する請求項23 記載のセンサ。 29.前記送信機は送信アンテナを有するとともに、前記受信機は受信アンテナ を有し、前記送信アンテナおよび受信アンテナは、前記送信バーストが前記受信 アンテナに近接結合して反射波に混合するように取り付けてある請求項23記載 のセンサ。
