Description
Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.バインダー層の外表面に一部埋封されかつこの外表面から一部突き出した 微小球の配列を含む再帰反射性物品であって、前記バインダー層が第一の層と第 二の層を含み、前記第二の層が前記第一の層の下にあり、前記第一の層が拡散反 射顔料の粒子を含み、前記第二の層が正反射顔料の粒子を含み、前記微小球が前 記第一の層を通過しかつ前記第二の層に一部埋封されるように前記バインダー層 に埋封されていることを特徴とする再帰反射性物品。 2.前記物品が舗道マークであることをさらに特徴とする請求項1記載の物品 。 3.a)前記微小球がセラミックスもしくはガラスであること、 b)前記微小球が1.5 〜2.2 の屈折率を有すること、 c)前記微小球が1.8 〜2.0 の屈折率を有すること、 d)前記微小球がその直径の約50〜55パーセントの深さまで前記バインダー層に 埋封されていること、 e)前記微小球が、正反射光学素子の使用を有効にするために約0.500 ラジアン の深さまでバインダー層の正反射層に沈められていること、又は f)微小球の第一の部分がバインダー層の第一の層と接触している微小球の部分 と規定されかつ約2.440 〜3.400 ラジアンであり、微小球の第二の部分がバイン ダー層の第二の層と接触している微小球の部分と規定されかつ約0.087 〜1.05ラ ジアンであること、 のうち少なくとも1つをさらに特徴とする、請求項1記載の物品。 4.前記拡散反射顔料が、二酸化チタン、クロム酸鉛、及び硫酸バリウムから なる群より選ばれることをさらに特徴とする、請求項1記載の物品。 5.前記正反射顔料が、アルミニウム薄片、マイカ、真珠箔、及び真珠光沢顔 料からなる群より選ばれることをさらに特徴とする、請求項1記載の物品。 6.前記正反射顔料が光透過性媒体中に存在することをさらに特徴とする、請 求項1記載の物品。 7.前記光透過性媒体がウレタンである、請求項6記載の物品。 8.その使用する位置において前記物品が少なくとも一部垂直に配列されてい ることをさらに特徴とする、請求項1記載の物品。 9.微小球が突き出している面と反対の側に接着剤層をさらに含むことを特徴 とする、請求項1記載の物品。 10.その使用する位置において前記物品が道路に固定され、舗道マークとして 機能することをさらに特徴とする、請求項1記載の物品。 11.以下の工程 1)正反射コーティングを提供すること、 2)正反射コーティング上に拡散反射コーティングを提供して2層コーティング を形成すること、 3)液体2層コーティング上に微小球を付着させ、この微小球を拡散反射層を通 して沈めかつ一部を正反射層に埋封すること を含むことを特徴とする、再帰反射性物品の製造方法。 12.2層コーティング及び微小球を加えた面上にフィルムを提供する追加工程 をさらに含む、請求項11記載の方法。 13.フィルムの第二の面に接着剤を積層する追加工程をさらに含む、請求項12 記載の方法。 14.コーティングを加熱することによりコーティングの流動性を調節すること をさらに特徴とする、請求項11記載の方法。 15.コーティングが微小球の回りに引きあがるような微小球の表 面エネルギーとコーティング流動性の組合せであることをさらに特徴とする、請 求項11記載の方法。 16.以下の工程 1)正反射層を有する1つもしくは複数の細線もしくはフィラメントを提供する こと、 2)正反射層上に拡散反射層をコートすること、 3)液体コーティング上に微小球を付着させ、この微小球を拡散反射層を通して 沈めかつ一部を正反射層に埋封すること 4)液体コーティングを固化させること、 5)フィラメントを小さな区分に切断すること、及び 6)この小さな区分をテープ、ペイントもしくは熱可塑性樹脂のような他のコー ティングに付着させること を含むことを特徴とする、再帰反射性物品の製造方法。 17.a)バインダー層が固化される前に前記細線もしくはフィラメントが小さな 区分に切断されること、又は b)バインダー層が固化された後に前記細線もしくはフィラメントが小さな区分 に切断されること のうち少なくとも1つをさらに特徴とする、請求項16記載の方法。 18.以下の工程 1)正反射層を有するペレットを提供すること、 2)正反射層上に拡散反射層をコートすること、 3)液体コーティング上に微小球を付着させ、この微小球を拡散反射層を通して 沈めかつ一部を正反射層に埋封すること 4)液体コーティングを固化させること、 5)ペレットをテープ、ペイントもしくは熱可塑性樹脂のような他のコーティン グに付着させること を含むことを特徴とする、再帰反射性物品の製造方法。
