Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hermetic motor-driven compressor which can prevent occurrence of abnormal noise caused by intermittent contact of a connecting rod with a washer due to inclination of a bearing and a shaft. SOLUTION: In this hermetic motor-driven compressor, when a connecting rod and a U-like washer 17 are inserted in a hollow part 16 of a piston 6, the washer 17 abuts with the hollow part 16 at four points 16a, 16b, 16c, 16d while a clearance is held between the connecting rod and the U-like washer 17, and the washer 17 is formed in such a shape that it is curved toward the connecting rod in the vicinity of the piston pin 19. Accordingly, an effect for damping the vertical motion of the connecting rod can be exhibited so as to prevent occurrence of resonation of the U-like washer 17, and therefore, exciting force transmitted from the piston and the cylinder is decreased so as to prevent occurrence of abnormal sound.
