Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively wash sea sand and also to effectively utilize the water discharged from a sewage-treatment plant by washing the sea sand using the sewage treated water discharged from the sewage-treatment plant to remove a salt content from the sea sand. SOLUTION: Sea sand (having a salt content of 18000-20000ppm, for example) carried in by a carrying vessel is washed using sewage treated water (of 50ton per 100m<3> sea sand, for example). By this washing, the sea sand of desired salt content concentration is obtained. And in the case sea sand having a salt content smaller than that of the obtained washed sea sand is required, operation of washing using the sewage treated water discharged from the sewage- treatment plant is performed and then the residual salt content in the sea sand is removed by fresh water. In this way, sea sand containing a salt content and not used as construction material gets rid of the salt content to such an extent that it can be used, and also sewage treated water discharged from a sewage-treatment plant is effectively utilized.

2. Description of the Related Art The conventional technology for removing sea sand, which cannot be used immediately as construction material containing salt, to the extent that it can be used, is to wash it with fresh water (river water, groundwater, industrial water). Was common. On the other hand, the water discharged from the sewage treatment plant was discharged directly into the sea.

The supply of river water and the like has a problem that the supply amount varies seasonally, and the use of industrial water and the like has a problem that the cost is high. Therefore, various studies were conducted on inexpensive washing of sea sand and effective use of water discharged from sewage treatment plants.

[0005] Further, when a salt having a lower salt content than the salt content of the washed sea sand obtained by the above-mentioned means is required, the sea sand is discharged from a sewage treatment plant using sewage treated water. Subsequent to the washing operation, a sea sand washing method was characterized in that residual salt in sea sand was removed with fresh water.

Example 2 As shown on the right side of FIG. 1, 100 m 3 of washed sea sand having a salt concentration of 220 to 230 ppm obtained by the same operation as in Example 1.
Per wash was performed using 10 tons of river water. As a result, purified washed sea sand having a salt concentration of 150 ppm was obtained. This means that some local governments (for example, Okayama Prefecture) can use the sand where the salinity of sand used as construction material is less than 200 ppm.

Industrial Applicability According to the present invention, it is possible to remove sea salt containing salt and which cannot be used as construction material to the extent that it can be used, and to make effective use of sewage treated water discharged from a sewage treatment plant. Also enabled. In addition, the use of sewage treatment water, which can provide a more stable supply than river water that cannot be used during the drought period, has enabled the stable supply of washed sea sand. Further, since solids such as suspended solids in the sewage treated water discharged from the sewage treatment plant are removed from the water, a water purifying action is obtained, which also contributes to environmental conservation.
