Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively develop the effects of both of tourmaline and titanium oxide by mixing these. SOLUTION: This catalyst consists of a mixture of tourmaline and titanium oxide. Tourmaline has such properties as surface activity, production of minus ions, prevention of oxidation, generation of far infrared rays, water repellency and acceleration of growth. Titanium oxide has such properties as chemical decomposition, adsorption and deodorization, contamination prevention, antimicrobial effect, UV absorbing effect, photoconductivity and superhydrophilicity. These properties are not necessarily uniformly developed in all materials to which tourmaline and titanium oxide are added. Therefore, the catalyst comprising both of tourmaline and titanium oxide is added to a source material such as paper, synthetic resin, fiber and ceramic material and the effects of tourmaline and titanium oxide are developed. Thus, higher effects than the sum of the effects of each material can be obtd.
