Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent peeling of a color resin layer from an adhesion interface when a color filter substrate is cut and to decrease cutting failures by subjecting the surface of a plastic film to corona discharge treatment in the production process of a color filter by forming a color resin layer on the plastic film. SOLUTION: In a pair of upper and lower substrates 1, 6 which constitute a liquid crystal display panel, the one substrate 6 is a plastic film substrate 6 produced by subjecting a plastic film 2 to corona discharge treatment and forming a color resin layer 3 on the film 2. By subjecting the surface of the plastic film 2 to corona discharge treatment, wettability (polarity and hydrophilicity) of the plastic film 2 surface is improved, which increases the adhesion strength on the interface between the plastic film 2 and the color resin layer 3. Thereby, failures during cutting the substrate is prevented, and a color liquid crystal display device having a stable color filter substrate structure can be obtd.
