According to the above-mentioned conventional rain water utilization apparatus 20, since a large water storage tank 22 must be provided under the building B in order to install the rain water utilization apparatus 20, a large installation is required. There is a problem that construction is required and costs are high. Further, for the same reason, there is a problem that installation work is difficult for the existing building B. Furthermore, since the water storage tank 22 is provided underground, the rainwater must be pumped up to the roof tank 25 by the pump 23 when in use. For this reason, if the pump 23 stops operating due to a failure or the like, it becomes impossible to pump rainwater from the water storage tank 22 to the roof tank 25. Thereafter, only the rainwater already stored in the roof tank 25 becomes available. However, there is a problem that it cannot be used for watering a green plant.

According to this rainwater utilization device, since the water collecting section and the water storage tank are provided on the roof of the building, a large-scale installation work like a conventional underground water storage tank is not required when the rainwater utilization device is installed. Very low cost. Also, for the same reason, the construction itself is easy, and it can be easily installed in an existing building. Furthermore, since the water storage tank is provided at a position lower than the water collection part, the rainwater collected in the water collection part is stored in the water storage tank by gravity drop. In addition, one end of the water supply pipe is connected to the lower end of the water storage tank, and the other end of the water supply pipe opens near the water supply target and at a position lower than the maximum water level of the water storage tank, so that the outlet valve is opened. When the water level in the water storage tank is higher than the opening of the water supply pipe, the amount of rainwater corresponding to the difference between the water level and the opening position is automatically sent to the opening by the water head pressure, and the water is supplied to the water supply target. Water is released.
For example, if the opening is located at a position lower than the bottom of the water tank, all rainwater in the water tank can be discharged from the opening of the water supply pipe. Thus, unlike conventional underground water storage tanks, rainwater can be stored in the water storage tank without using power, and the stored water can be used effectively.

Next, the operation of the rain water utilization device 1 installed as described above will be described.
Rain falling on the surface of the roof 3b flows down to the gutter 3c at the lower end thereof due to the inclination attached to the roof 3b. The rainwater collected by the gutter 3c falls by gravity and is stored in the water storage tank 4. When the outlet valve V1 is open and the timer-type automatic valve is opened for a predetermined period at a predetermined period, the communication from the water storage tank 4 to the water outlet 5a of the water supply pipe 5 is established. At this time, due to the head pressure of the rainwater stored in the water storage tank 4, the rainwater is discharged from the water outlet 5 a of the water supply pipe 5 in a sprinkling state. Thereby, the rainwater stored in the water storage tank 4 can be automatically sprinkled and sprayed to the green plant G as irrigation water.
