Description of the Related Art A large number of recording sheets stacked on a hopper of a printer are fed one by one from the uppermost sheet by a sheet feeding roller provided on the upper part of the hopper. At this time, in order to prevent the second and subsequent sheets of paper from advancing along with the first sheet of paper, a separation pad is usually provided facing the sheet feed roller, and the second sheet of paper is the first sheet of paper. The frictional force of the separation pad prevents the second sheet from advancing further when the paper is trying to advance between the paper feed roller and the separation pad. The first sheet at the top is separated from the second sheet and is continuously fed by the sheet feed roller.

When the printing operation is completed and there is a print command for the next paper, the paper feed roller rotates again and the same paper feeding operation is performed. This operation is repeated to print the required number of sheets.

However, from the time when the first paper is sent by the paper feed roller toward the printing unit until the next paper starts moving by the paper feed roller, the next paper is always separated from the paper feed roller. There is no problem when printing is continuously performed on the next paper because it is a bit bit between the pad and the pad, but after the work on a series of paper is completed, other size paper When the hopper is taken out from the printer, the problem is that it is difficult to take out the paper that is caught between the paper feed roller and the separation pad.

And a separation pad provided so as to face each other, and the paper feed roller rotates in the forward direction to feed the paper while passing between the paper feed roller and the separation pad, and the second and subsequent papers. In a paper feeding device of a printer configured to be constrained by a separation pad, if there is no print command for the next paper after a lapse of a certain time after the printing operation for any paper is finished, Provided is a paper feeding device of a printer, which is rotated by a fixed amount in the reverse direction.

Moreover, since the paper is no longer caught between the paper feed roller and the separation pad, the hopper can be easily removed. Further, even when the next printing operation is started without changing the hopper, the paper can be fed smoothly.

In a paper feeding device of a printer configured such that the uppermost paper is fed forward by rotating a roller, a depth-adjustable recess is provided at both front end portions of the paper loading area of the hopper. Provided is a paper feeding device for a printer, wherein the paper loaded in the hopper is configured to abut the paper feeding roller substantially uniformly.

As a result, the contact pressure with respect to the sheet feeding roller becomes uniform, smooth sheet feeding is performed, and sheet skew is prevented. In this case, a flap having elasticity may be provided inside the recess, and the height of the flap may be automatically changed according to the amount of sheets stacked in the hopper. In this case, the height of the flap, that is, the height of the bottom of the hopper is automatically adjusted according to the amount of paper, and the paper always contacts the paper feed roller with a constant pressure regardless of the amount of paper.

When the top sensor detects the rising position of the hopper, the rising of the hopper stops. At this point, the leading edge of the uppermost sheet 2 in the hopper 1 contacts the sheet feeding roller 3. Next, the paper feed roller 3 rotates in the forward direction, and paper feed is started. The paper 2 passes between the paper feed roller 3 and the separation pad 4. When the paper feed sensor 5 detects the leading edge of the paper 2, the paper feed roller 3 continues to feed the paper 2 to the position of the transport roller 6. Paper feed roller 3
After the normal rotation of No., if no paper is detected within a certain period of time, it is determined that there is no paper, and the hopper 1 is lowered to the lower limit position.

Then, the hopper 1 is lowered by a certain amount. The sheet sensor 8 detects the leading edge of the sheet 2, and at this time, it is determined whether or not the trailing edge of the sheet has deviated from the sheet feeding roller 3. If deviated, the sheet feeding (pick) motor is stopped and the sheet is conveyed. The sheet is conveyed to the print position by the roller 6 (that is, line feed is started), and printing is started. If it does not come off, if the first sheet of paper,
The paper feed roller 3 is driven intermittently to detect the paper length. When the driving of the paper feed roller 3 is stopped, the connection between the paper feed roller 3 and the paper feed (pick) motor 11 is cut off to reduce the back load of the paper, as shown in FIG. 4, for example. In FIG. 4, 3 is a paper feed roller, 11 is a paper feed motor, 12 is a gear attached to the shaft of the paper feed roller, and 13 is a gear attached to the shaft of the paper feed motor.
By moving the intermediate gears 14 and 14 ′ between 13 as shown by an arrow P in the drawing, the paper feed roller 3 and the paper feed motor 11 can be connected or disconnected.

When such an operation is continuously performed for the required number of pages (number of pages) and printing is completed for all the number of pages (number of pages), if there is no next print command within a certain time (for example, 5 seconds), the paper feed is performed. The roller 3 is rotated in the opposite direction by a predetermined amount. The predetermined amount is a rotation amount sufficient for the next sheet caught between the sheet feed roller 3 and the separation pad 4 to come off and return into the hopper 1.

And (b) shows a state in which the hopper 1 is lowered and the paper feed roller 3 is rotated in the reverse direction. (C) shows a state in which the paper 2 which has been caught between the paper feed roller 3 and the separation pad 4 is returned to the hopper 1 by the reverse rotation of the paper feed roller 3. Note that FIG.
As shown in (a), at the paper feeding position, the angle of the hopper 1 is such that when the uppermost sheet 2 slides forward on the hopper or on the sheet, and as shown in FIG. 5 (b), the sheet 2 returns. Is preferably an optimal angle (an angle slightly inclined downward toward the front) so that the sheets are stacked in an orderly manner.

When the amount of paper loaded on the hopper 1 is large (that is, heavy), the load applied to the flap 21 is large. Larger, the flap 21 is further deformed downward to increase the amount of the depression, and when the load of paper is small, the load applied to the flap 21 is small, and the downward deformation of the flap 21 is reduced to reduce the amount of the depression. I made it smaller. As a result, the continuous paper feed roller 3 is irrespective of the amount of paper loaded.
Can be uniformly contacted with the paper 2.

When the paper feed roller rotates normally, the paper passes between the paper feed roller and the separation pad to be fed, and the second and subsequent papers are restrained by the separation pad. In the paper feeding device of the printer, the paper feeding roller is reversely rotated by a predetermined amount when there is no print command for the next paper after a lapse of a certain time after the printing operation for an arbitrary paper is completed. Paper feeder.

A hopper capable of stacking a large number of recording papers, and a paper feed roller arranged so as to come into contact with the upper surface of the front end of the uppermost paper on the hopper, and the paper feed roller rotates. As a result, in the paper feeding device of the printer configured to feed the uppermost paper to the front side, the paper loading area of the hopper has a front end paper thickness that increases when a different medium is loaded on the left and right sides. A paper feeding device for a printer, characterized in that a depth adjustable recess is provided so that the paper loaded in the hopper abuts the paper feeding roller substantially uniformly.
