防止等の効果を充分に発現する程に有効なる物質の発現
にまでは至っていない。近年、育毛に関し、ホルモンの
関与が示唆されている。つまり、毛母細胞を含めた毛包
に於いて、男性ホルモン(テストステロン)は、5α-
レダクターゼ(Δ4 −3−ケトステロイド5α-オキシ
ドリダクターゼ)により、活性型男性ホルモン(ジヒド
ロテストステロン)に活性化され、更に受容体と結合
し、核に取り込まれ、DNAレベルで情報を伝達する。
伝達された情報により、ケラチン合成に関与する酵素合
成が制御され、毛髪のケラチン合成を抑制し、毛髪の成
長が低下し、最終的に脱毛を促進させる。したがって、
養毛剤開発にあたり、頭毛及び頭皮に於いて男性ホルモ
ンの活性化酵素である5α- レダクターゼの活性阻害物
質に関する研究が注目されている。2. 見出だし、本発明を完成するに至った。本発明で言うオ
イゲノール配糖体とは、グルコース、ガラクトース、マ
ンノース、ラムノース、キシロース、グルコサミン、ガ
ラクトサミン等の単糖類、ラクトース、マルトース、シ
ュークロース等の二糖類等等の糖類とオイゲノールとが

供することは明らかである。すなわち、本発明は、オイ
ゲノールをグルコース、ガラクトース、キシロース、マ
ルトース等の配糖体とすることにより、特有な香気性を
低減し、物質安定性及びヒト皮膚に対する安全性を高
め、水系に於ける溶解性を向上させた。さらに、オイゲ
ノール配糖体は、頭皮常在菌によりオイゲノールと糖部
分に適宜分解され、男性ホルモンが活性型男性ホルモン
(ジヒドロテストステロン)に活性化される過程を阻害
した。この5α- レダクターゼ活性阻害能が、毛乳頭細
胞に於ける活性型男性ホルモン(ジヒドロテストステロ
ン)産生を抑制し、さらには、頭皮代謝機能を正常化し
