Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress noise during the boiling by continuously heating of temper ature areas within a range of the temperature of hot water exceeding a specified value during the boiling by a consumed power lower than a rated value. SOLUTION: A bottomed cylindrical liquid container 2 is housed in an outer case 1 and is made up of a bottom part container 2 and a side container, and assembled by welding. Moreover, a heating body 3 using a mica heater on the bottom of the bottom part container is integrated by welding. The consumption of power is lowered to a half of a rated value when the temperature of hot water reaches 50 deg.C by the heating body 3 during the boiling. After heating is made slowly up to 90 deg.C, the consumption of power is continuously raised to the rated value to boil the water. This can shorten the time up to the boiling in a boiler thereby suppressing the noise during the boiling.

2. Description of the Related Art Generally, an electric water heater has a structure in which a heating element is integrated at the bottom of a liquid container, and when the water is boiled, there is a high boiling noise, and there is a problem when used at night or in a quiet room. It was Therefore, fluorine coating was applied to the inner surface of the liquid container to reduce noise, and the liquid container was put into practical use. However, even in such an improved electric water heater, dissatisfaction with quietness is still strong, and an electric water heater with further excellent quietness has been desired.

In an electric water heater, a sound is generated when boiling water. The bubbles generated on the heating surface of the liquid container are rapidly cooled by the water and the bubbles pop, and the sound generated at this time is transmitted to the liquid container through the heating surface. It is estimated that the sound is generated.

Therefore, in order to reduce the boiling noise, it is sufficient to reduce the number of bubbles generated or to suppress the rapid popping phenomenon of the bubbles. Specifically, the power consumption should be as low as possible and the boiling water should be slow. You can boil. However, such a method requires a long time for boiling water and is difficult to put into practical use.

EXAMPLE FIG. 1 is a graph showing changes in boiling noise generated from an electric water heater when the conventional electric water heater was filled with water and the heater was turned on for heating. As is clear from Fig. 1, the boiling noise is loud when the water temperature is 5
0 ° C. or higher. It is presumed that this is because the number of bubbles generated in this temperature region is large and the sudden repulsion phenomenon of the generated bubbles becomes large. And, especially in the temperature range of 70 to 80 ° C., the boiling noise becomes maximum. Therefore, if the above-mentioned temperature range is heated as slowly as possible, the boiling water noise can be reduced. As a method for this, heating may be performed continuously or intermittently with power consumption below the rated value. Any method may be used to reduce the power consumption to the rated value or less. Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings.

(Embodiment 2) In an electric water heater having the same structure as that of Embodiment 1, intermittent duty control was performed as shown in FIG. 5 when the hot water temperature was between 70 ° C and 80 ° C. In addition, in FIG. 5, a solid line shows a change in hot water temperature, and a dotted line shows a change in power consumption. Further, FIG. 6 shows the change in the boiling water sound when the power consumption is changed depending on the hot water temperature. When heated by such a method, the boiling water noise was as quiet as 28 dB at the peak. In addition, the time until boiling was 9 minutes, and the time until boiling was shortened as compared with 12 minutes which is the time until boiling in Example 1 of the present invention.
