BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION The details of the roof carrier according to the present invention will be described below with reference to the accompanying drawings. FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a roof carrier 3 attached to the front and rear of a roof bar 2 of an automobile roof 1, in which skis 4 mounted are shown in phantom lines.
The roof carrier 3 includes a pinching member 6 described below for the roof bar 2, a carrier member 7 for the ski 4, a fixing member 8 interposed between these two members 6, 7, a leg member 9 abutting on the roof 1, and a roof. It is constituted by a belt-shaped member 12 whose one end is locked to the edge 11. FIG. 2 shows FIG.
FIG. 3 is a partially cutaway side view of the roof carrier 3 in the attached state of FIG. 2, but the roof 1 and the roof bar 2 are shown by imaginary lines, and the ski 4 is not shown. The roof carrier 3 is formed so that its thickness direction is substantially symmetrical with respect to the center line C-C (see FIG. 1), and FIG. 2 shows the center line C-C.
Fractured on C. In the roof carrier 3, the pinching member 6 has an upper pinching member 6A and a lower pinching member 6B that come into contact with the roof bar 2 from above and below, respectively, and these members 6A and 6B are located closer to the center of the roof 1 (see the figure). At the left side), one end portion 14 of the member 6B is inserted into the through hole 13 of the member 6A.
The second operation bolt 16 is inserted into the through hole 10 of the member 6A from above and is screwed to the member 6B near the roof edge 11. When the bolt 16 is tightened, the member 6
A and 6B can approach each other to pinch the roof bar 2, and the pinching member 6 can be fixed to the bar 2. The upper clamping member 6A has an extending portion 17 that extends toward the edge 11 beyond the right end of the lower clamping member 6B. Upper surface 18 of extension 17
The sliding portion 19A of the first sliding member 19 abuts on the
A sliding portion 21A (see also FIG. 3 described later) of a second sliding member 21 facing the member 19 is in contact with the roof bar 2 closer than the sliding member 19. Both these members 19, 21
Can slide in the direction of the roof bar 2 and in the direction of the edge 11. From the edge 11 to the roof bar 2, the first
The operation bolt 22 is inserted into the through hole 23 of the first sliding member 19 and screwed to the second sliding member 21. In the illustrated roof carrier 3, in order to make the outer shape as small as possible, the sliding portion 21A of the second sliding member 21 does not contact the upper surface 18 of the extending portion 17 but the first sliding member 19. It abuts on the sliding portion 19A from above and slides on the upper surface of the sliding portion 19A. The sliding portion 21A has a substantial meaning.
It is slidably in contact with the extending portion 17. First sliding member 1
9 has an upright portion 19B which is substantially perpendicular to the sliding portion 19A, and the strip-shaped member 12 has a plurality of engaging holes 25 (see FIGS. 1 and 3) at its upper end portion. One is engaged. The second sliding member 21 includes the upper clamping member 6
A portion 27 that extends parallel to the lower surface of the extension portion 17 through a relatively large through hole 26 formed in the extension portion 17 of A, and a portion 28 that hangs from both side edges of the portion 27 in a direction perpendicular to the paper surface. Have and. An elongated hole 29 is formed in the portion 28 on the upper right side in the drawing. The leg member 9 is a substrate 31.
And a pair of upright portions 32 that face each other in the front-rear direction of the roof 1 on the upper surface of the substrate 31, and a cushion member 35 that covers the lower surface of the substrate 31. However, in FIG. 2, only one of the upright portions 32 is shown. In the front-rear direction of the roof 1, each of the upright portions 32 has the hanging portions 33 (see FIG. 3) at both side edges of the extending portion 17 of the upper pressing member 6A on the outer side, and on both sides of the second sliding member 21. The hanging portions 28 of the edge portions are arranged so as to be inward, and are arranged so as to be interposed between the hanging portions 33 and 28.
The hanging portion 33 has a long hole 34, and the standing portion 32 has
There is a circular hole 36. Upper clamping member 6A and second sliding member 2
1 and the leg member 9 are those long holes 34 and 29 and the circular hole 3
It is possible to swivel at a required angle around a support shaft 37 that is inserted into and removed from the shaft 6, and is movable along the long holes 34 and 29. In the pinching member 6, the leg member 9, and the strip-shaped member 12 configured as described above, when the first operation bolt 22 is tightened, the first sliding member 22 slides toward the roof bar 2 and the strip-shaped piece 1 is formed.
2 can be tense. Further, the second sliding member slides toward the roof edge 11, and at that time moves the leg member 9 in the direction of abutting on the roof 1 via the support shaft 37. By these movements, the pinching member 6 can disperse the external force such as the load applied to the roof 1 and the roof edge 11 in addition to the roof bar 2. The carrier member 7 is attached to the pressing member 6 via the fixing member 8. The fixing member 8 has an inclined surface portion 41 above which the carrier member 7 can be attached to the roof 1 at a required angle, and the lower portion of the member 8 has an upper clamping member 6A.
It is irremovably fixed to the hanging portion 33 and the upright portion 42 formed near the roof bar 2 with screws 43. The carrier member 7 is attached to the fixed member 8 by bolts 46 that are screwed from the inside of the bottom portion 44 to the inclined surface portion 41 of the fixed member 8. Above the bolt 46 is a rubber cushion pad 47. The other structure of the carrier member 7 thus mounted is similar to that of the well-known carrier member. When the upper member 49 is closed, pressing the push button 51 at the lower end opens the upper member 49 via the hinge 48 as a virtual line. A key hole 53 is provided on the side surface of the bottom portion 44, and a required key can be inserted here to lock the upper member 29. The upper member 49 has an elastic member 51 for pressing the ski against the bottom portion 44. FIG. 3 is a perspective view showing the main part of the roof carrier 1 in a broken view for explaining an operation procedure when the roof bar 2 is pinched by the pinching member 6. It is a figure. Before performing this operation, the carrier member 7
Is removed from the fixing member 8, the driver 54 is inserted between the pair of side walls 53 facing each other in the thickness direction of the fixing member 8, and the first operation bolt 16 is tightened as shown in the drawing. After that, the carrier member 7 is fixed to the slope portion 41. Slope 4
The upper end portion 41A of No. 1 is at a position where the driver 54 can barely reach the second operation bolt 16. When the carrier member 7 is attached to the slope portion 41 (see FIG.
), The member 7 occupies a position that prevents the driver 54 from entering. Therefore, in this roof carrier 1, if the carrier member 7 is locked so as not to be opened and closed, the pinching member 6 cannot be removed from the roof bar 2,
Anti-theft measures as a roof carrier are further improved. The roof carrier 1 according to the present invention can be attached to the roof bar 2 only by the pinching member 6 without using the leg member 9 or the band-shaped connecting member 12. Further, the leg member 9 and the belt-shaped connecting member 12 may be used alone without using them together. When only the leg member 9 is used, a hole for inserting the first operation bolt is formed in the upper clamping member 6A, for example. When only the strip-shaped connecting member 12 is used, a screw hole for the first operation bolt is formed in the upper pressing member 6A.
