When a dc voltage is connected to the input terminal, an output terminal 8 can obtain a constant polarity by the rectifying element 14 regardless of the polarity connected to the input terminal. Since the voltage drop by the inductance is small when the dc voltage is connected to the input terminal, the electromagnetic switch 13 is operated to close 13A, 13B, whereby a dc output is supplied to the output terminal. Since the electromagnetic switch 31 can not be operated when an ac power source is connected to the input terminal, no ac output is supplied to the output terminal. According to such a structure, simplification of work, prevention of damage of equipment, and improvement in safety can be attained.
