Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the volume of the lower part of a water collecting strainer plate and to save washing water in washing by packing a material which is cured with the passage of time below the water collecting strainer plate and forming the upper surface of the material in a funnel shape. SOLUTION: The main body container of an ion exchange resin column 1 having a water collecting strainer plate 8 is divided by the lower surface of the plate 8, and flanges (a), (b) are formed in the divided parts and linked together. The outlet pipe 13 of the outlet 10 of an lower part container 1 is projected inside and formed in a funnel shape (c) with a material which is cured with the passage of time, for example, a filler 3 such as mortar or a plastic. Chemical resistant coating is applied to the upper and lower surfaces of the plate 8, the inner surfaces of containers 1a, 1b, the surface of the filler 3, and the inner surface of the outlet pipe 10. When the filler 3 is made from a chemical resistant plastic, the coating is not necessary. In this way, water can be collected smoothly. Since the volume is reduced during washing, washing costs can be reduced.
