Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent generation of noise caused by expansion or vibration of a separation pad without impairing paper separation performance by bonding a non-expansion sheet consisting of fibrous textile material onto the back surface of the separation pad where a base part is fixed onto a machine body so that its top end may be brought into elastic contact with the circumferential surface of the separation roller. CONSTITUTION: A facsimile device is provided with a paper separator including a separation roller 2 and a separation pad 3 disposed on the downstream side of a cover (tray), and a document discharge tray part disposed through a reading part on the more downstream side. In the separation roller 2, a rotating shaft 21 is equipped with rollers 22 consisting of silicone rubber or the like. The separation pad 3 is formed out of silicone rubber, and onto its back surface, glass cloth 31 which serves as a non-expansion sheet where glass fiber is woven in a plain or twilled form is bonded through a bonding agent layer. The separation pad 3, whose end side is brought into contact with the circumferential surface of the separation roller 2 under a mounted condition onto a machine frame F, is pressed against the separation roller 2 by a pressing member 9.

2. Description of the Related Art A sheet feeding / separating apparatus as described above will be described with reference to FIG. The paper feeding / separating apparatus in FIG. 4 has a tray 1 on which a large number of documents P are stacked, a separating roller 2 on the downstream side, and a base portion fixed to the machine body so that the front side elastically contacts the peripheral surface of the separating roller 2. It consists of the separation pad 3. In such a paper feeding / separating apparatus, the friction coefficient μa between the peripheral surface of the separation roller 2 and the original P, the friction coefficient μb between the surface of the separation pad 3 and the original P, and the friction coefficient μc between the originals P are large or small. In the paper feeding / separating apparatus, the originals P stacked on the tray 1 are fed into a separation area between the originals P and the separation pad 3 by the rotation of the separation roller 2. When a plurality of originals P are to be fed into the separation area (double feeding), the original P on the side contacting the separation pad 3 due to the magnitude of the friction coefficient is further fed by the deterrent force of the separation pad 3. Only the original P that is blocked and comes into contact with the separation roller 2 is separated and fed into the machine.

The document P separated as described above is fed between the separation roller 2 and the separation pad 3 to the downstream side by the rotational force of the separation roller 2. At this time, It will slide relative to the separation pad 3.
Therefore, the friction coefficient μb between the separation pad 3 and the original P causes the separation pad 3 to be pulled to the downstream side, and depending on the type of paper, this pulling force causes the separation pad 3 to expand and contract and vibrate. Such expansion / contraction / vibration operation causes an abnormal noise when the document is fed, and makes the operator uncomfortable. The present invention has been made in view of the above, and an object of the present invention is to provide a novel sheet feeding / separating device capable of effectively suppressing the generation of abnormal noise.

The operation of the facsimile apparatus having the above configuration will be briefly described. At the time of transmission or copying, the cover 1 is opened to form a document tray, and the document P is stacked on the tray 1. The separation roller 2 starts to rotate by an appropriate key operation, and when there are a plurality of originals P, they are separated one by one by the action of the separation roller 2 and the separation pad 3 and fed to the reading unit 5. In the reading unit 5, the contact image sensor 52 reads the image information on the surface of the document, and the read image information is converted into an electric signal. The document P from which the image information is read is discharged to the document discharge tray 6 by the rotation of the platen roller 51. When receiving or copying, the platen roller 71 and the thermal head 72 of the recording unit 7 are driven, and desired image information is sequentially printed on the recording paper p. The recording paper p on which the image information is printed is cut by the cutter 8 for each page break and discharged to the outside of the machine.

The paper feeding / separating device will be described in more detail. The separation roller 2 has a rotation shaft 21 to which a roller 22 made of silicon rubber or the like is fixed, and rotates in the direction of the arrow in FIG. The separation pad 3 is composed of a pad made of silicon rubber, and a glass cloth 31 as a non-stretchable sheet made of plain weave or twill weave of glass fiber is attached to the back surface of the separation pad 3 via an adhesive layer 32. This glass cloth sheet is one in which a silicon-based adhesive is evenly applied to one side of a glass cloth tape. It is obtained as 361. The base of the separation pad 3 is fixed to a resin-molded mounting member 33, and a metallic springy paper restraining member 34 is mounted to the mounting member 33. The mounting member 33
Is attached to the machine frame F of the apparatus by the engaging claw pieces 33a while holding the separation pad 3 and the paper pressing member 34.
When the separation pad 3 is attached to the machine frame F, the front side of the separation pad 3 contacts the peripheral surface of the separation roller 2 and is pressed against the separation roller 2 by a pressing member 9 described later. Further, the paper pressing member 34 has a leaf spring-like tongue piece 34a, and in the state of being attached to the machine frame F, the tip of this tongue piece 34a has the separation roller 2a.
And the front side of the originals P stacked on the tray 1 are pressed onto the tray 1 to improve the feeding property of the originals P to the separation roller 2. The tip side of the separation pad 3 is
The pressing roller 9 attached to the machine frame F separates the separation roller 2
Is elastically pressed against the peripheral surface of the. The pressing member 9 is composed of a pressing piece 91 and a spring 92 that elastically biases the piece 91 from behind, and by the elasticity of the spring 92,
The pressing piece 91 swings according to the thickness of the paper introduced between the separation roller 2 and the separation pad 3, and functions to constantly press the separation pad 3 against the peripheral surface of the separation roller 2.

The surface of the separating roller 2 and the separating pad 3
The coefficient of friction of the surface of the separation roller on the side is set in the same manner as described above in relation to the coefficient of friction between documents. In such a configuration, the documents P stacked on the document tray 1 are separated one by one by the action of the separation roller 2 and the separation pad 3 and fed into the machine. Even if the pulling force caused by the relative sliding contact with the separation pad 3 acts on the separation pad 3, the separation pad 3 does not expand or contract and vibrate due to the expansion and contraction blocking force of the glass cloth 31 attached to the back surface of the separation pad 3. Therefore, the generation of abnormal noise is effectively prevented. When the above-mentioned glass cloth tape is used as the non-stretchable sheet, not only the effect of preventing noise due to the non-stretchability but also the reinforcing effect of the separation pad 3 is added due to its toughness. Further, the heat resistance and flame retardancy also improve safety.

In the above description, an example in which the invention is applied to a document supply section of a facsimile machine is described. However, the invention is applied to a plain paper type recording paper feeding section, and is also applied to a document supply section or a recording paper supply section of a copying machine. It does not exclude things. Further, although the example in which the glass cloth tape is adopted as the non-stretchable sheet is shown, a sheet woven of non-stretchable fibers such as natural fibers can also be adopted.
