In the contact of the above publication, the allowable elastic deformation amount is increased by forming the elastic portion in a U shape, but this is not sufficient. In order to further increase the permissible elastic deformation amount of the U-shaped elastic portion and to secure a contact pressure above a predetermined value, it is necessary to lengthen the elastic portion, which increases the width of the contact. As a result, the size of the electrical connector increases, which is not preferable.

According to the electrical connector of the present invention, there are substantially two curved portions, a first curved portion and a second curved portion, in one plane between the holding portion of each contact and each contact portion. By providing each S-shaped elastic portion and widening a portion of the substantially S-shaped elastic portion where a large stress is generated during clamping, and narrowing a portion where the stress is small, the connection is performed without increasing the stress and the connector width. It is possible to efficiently increase the allowable elastic deformation amount in the direction.
As described above, according to the present invention, since it is possible to increase the amount of protrusion of the contact portion of each contact while reducing the size of the electrical connector, it is possible to reduce the warp of the connected plate-like body and the height error between the lands. Without being affected, it is possible to always ensure a good connection state with each land of the plate-shaped body to be connected, and it is possible to improve the connection reliability.

Further, according to another electrical connector of the present invention, the two bending portions, that is, the first bending portion and the second bending portion are formed in one plane between the holding portion of each contact and each contact portion. Each of the S-shaped elastic portions is provided, and the distance in the direction perpendicular to the connecting direction between the fixing point and the contact portion of the elastic portion is defined as the distance perpendicular to the connecting direction between the fixing point and the second bending portion. When the value divided by the distance is used as a parameter, by forming the elastic part in such a dimension that this parameter falls between 0.75 and 2.0, it acts not only as displacement in the connecting direction but also as wiping. It is possible to efficiently increase the displacement in the vertical direction. As described above, according to the present invention, since it is possible to obtain a sufficient wipe amount while achieving downsizing of the electrical connector, even when foreign matter such as dust or an oxide film is present on the land surface of the connected plate-like body, A good connection state with each land of the plate-like body to be connected can always be ensured, and the reliability of connection can be improved.

As shown in FIG. 2, the contact 15 has a holding portion 15a which is press-fitted and held in a concave press-fitting portion 11a formed integrally with the insulating housing 11 in the contact accommodating chamber 14.
And the contact parts 15 protruding from the two main surfaces 12 and 13, respectively.
b, and a substantially S-shaped elastic portion 15c formed between the holding portion 15a and each contact portion 15b. The elastic portion 15c has two curved portions, that is, a first curved portion 15d and a second curved portion 15e formed in one plane, and the width of each portion is such that when it is clamped, that is, two connected plate shapes. A portion having a large stress generated when it is sandwiched between the bodies 20 and deformed is formed wide, and a portion having a small stress is formed narrow. In this embodiment, since the elastic portion 15c is formed in such a shape, the allowable elastic deformation amount of the elastic portion 15c is greatly increased as compared with the conventional structure, and the allowable displacement amount of the contact portion 15b in the vertical direction is increased. Since (the maximum displaceable amount in the vertical direction of the contact portion 15b within the elastic region of the elastic portion 15c) is large, the contact portion 15
The amount of protrusion of b from the main surfaces 12 and 13 is larger than that of the conventional structure. As a result, the warp of the plate member 20 to be connected and
It is not affected by the difference in height between 21 and can always maintain a good connection.

Further, in this embodiment, the fixing point of the elastic portion 15c
15f and the distance L 1 of the connecting direction of the contact portion 15b direction perpendicular to the (vertical direction in FIG. 2) (left-right direction in FIG. 2), with respect to the connection direction of the fixed point 15f and the second curved portion 15e by dividing the value when a parameter in a direction perpendicular distance L 2 Te, the elastic portion 15c is formed into a shape such as this parameter falls between 0.75 to 0.2. This allows
Contact part 15 in a direction perpendicular to the connecting direction, which acts as wiping when the contact 15 is connected to the other side
The displacement of b is larger than that of the conventional structure. Therefore, even if foreign matter such as dust or an oxide film is present on the surface of the land 21, a stable contact state can be secured.

FIG. 3 is a graph showing the results of examining how the wipe amount of 15b changes. The abscissa of FIG. 3 shows the value of the above parameter, and the ordinate shows the value of the ratio when the wipe amount when the parameter is 1 is the reference value (1). As is clear from FIG. 3, when the parameter is less than 0.75, the wipe amount is greatly reduced. It should be noted that the wipe amount does not decrease so much even if the parameter becomes larger than 2, but if the parameter becomes larger than 2, the contact becomes large, which is not suitable for downsizing the electrical connector.
