−オキシ酸、リンゴ酸、酒石酸、クエン酸、タンニン酸
等の望ましくは揮発性の低い有機酸を添加混合したシリ
カゲルであり、銀イオン含有シリカゲルとは塩化銀、硝
酸銀等の無機銀塩、酢酸銀、プロピオン酸銀、ステアリ
ン酸銀等の有機銀塩等の銀イオンを放出することの出来
る化合物を添加混合したシリカゲルであり、該有機酸含
有シリカゲルは例えば赤、青二色に着色し、該銀イオン
含有シリカゲルは例えば緑色に着色しておくことが望ま
しい。このようにシリカゲルを着色しておけばおよその
配合比率が目視で判別出来るしまた糞尿による着色を目
立たなくさせる利点がある。しかし上記着色は本発明を
限定するものではない。上記シリカゲル中有機酸含有シ
リカゲルは通常3〜10重量%、銀イオン含有シリカゲ
ルは通常1〜5重量%が含有される。

除去し、低湿時には水分のみを放出する。したがって本
発明の便床に使用されるシリカゲルは吸着飽和に達する
までの時間が長く、その結果長い寿命を有するものであ
り、その上再生することも出来る。また上記シリカゲル
に含まれる有機酸含有シリカゲルは糞尿の臭気成分の一
つであるアンモニアを吸着中和して無臭化させ、更に銀
イオン含有シリカゲルは便床に雑菌が繁殖することを抑
制する。またシリカゲルの主成分はケイ酸であるから土
に同化し易く、使用後廃棄しても環境汚染のおそれはな
い。

ないシリカゲルに比べて約1/2の使用量ですみ、また
ベントナイト系吸着脱臭剤と比べて約1/9の使用量で
すむ。
