Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of toilet sand in a bentonite group being weak in deodorization though it is caked by excreta and the problem of toilet sand in a zeolite group being low in caking intensity by excreta such as urine though it is deodorant because conventional toilet sand for pets depends much on the characteristic of the sand material. SOLUTION: The toilet sand for pets is obtained by mixing/blending sand particulate matters added/fixed with a reactive component changing the odor component of excreta such as urine to odorless component by reacting to the odor component without depending on the pore absorption, bentonite differential particle bodies as a component for caking by water the excreta such as urine, and an adhesive component for sticking these plural components to the surface of a sand material and bentonite granular bodies according to a purpose. Thereby the toilet sand for a pet obtains the feature of being provided with intense deodorant performance and avoiding the deterioration of concretion caking intensity by excreta such as urine.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, animal litter sand has been favored by natural sands due to the habit of dogs and cats. Recently, with the increase of dogs and cats for pets kept indoors, toiletries for indoor excretion have been developed. Have been. Many of these are intended for indoor use.Instead of natural sand, mineral sand that has been sized and granulated for industrial use. In order to reduce the smell of excrement and to remove toilet sand that is contaminated with excrement,
This was to impart to the toilet sand the property of hardening only the dirty portion.

Since the conventional pet litter described above largely depends on the properties of the sand material, the bentonite litter is solidified by excrement,
Deodorizing properties are weak, while zeolite sand has a deodorizing property, but there is a problem that the strength of solidification by excrement such as urine is reduced.

In the case of zeolite, the conventional deodorizing property of pet sand is due to adsorption of odor components of excrement such as urine in pores of zeolite. Competitive adsorption with non-odor components such as moisture,
Reliable adsorption and deodorization of offensive odor components cannot be expected. Furthermore, in the granulated zeolite type sand, the pores existing inside the granulation often do not reach the outer surface of the granulation, and in this case, only the pores on the outer surface of the granulation excrete urine and the like. This will contribute to the deodorization of the odor components of the product.

Further, from the urination side of the animal, since urine is concentrated and concentrated in a local part of the toilet sand, there is a limit to the pore volume that can be adsorbed, and the deodorizing and adsorbing is substantially limited. Since it is the outer surface of the granulation, sufficient deodorization cannot be expected from this point.

On the other hand, since bentonite has a swelling property with respect to water, swelling and hydration of excrement such as urine causes odor components dissolved in the water to flow between the bentonite crystal layers. It will take over the function of temporary deodorization.

[0009] The solidification of pet sand by excrement such as urine is due to the water swelling property of bentonite, and zeolite and ordinary natural sand have almost no function of this kind. For this reason, if mineral sand such as zeolite is mixed in the bentonite, the solidification property of the nodule is reduced, and the use of bentonite becomes useless.

In order to achieve the above object, pet litter for pets of the present invention is converted into odorless components by reacting with odor components of excrement such as urine, regardless of pore adsorption of sand material. Sand granules and bentonite granules to which a reaction component to be changed, bentonite fine powder as a component solidified by moisture in excretions such as urine, and an adhesive component for attaching these components to the surface of sand material are used. Here, as a sand material to which these functional components are attached, rhyolitic pumice is used to reduce the bulk specific gravity of pet sand as pet sand. Since the (space) is open to the outer surface of the pumice stone, the attached components are surely attached, and the components to be reacted can easily diffuse into the reactive components, and the deodorization of the reaction is ensured.

In addition, the contact between the impregnated bentonite powder and the separately mixed bentonite granules, and the mutual bonding between the bentonite powder and the particles during swelling by hydrated water or the like are facilitated. As a result, the bentonite impregnated pumice is And the bentonite particles mixed and blended together to form a nodular solidification as a whole, so that, despite mixing other sand with the bentonite, the nodular solidification strength functions without lowering.

According to a second aspect of the present invention, there is provided the pet toilet sand according to the first aspect, wherein the reaction component is citric acid and the agglomerated component is bentonite fine powder. It is limited to citric acid, and by reacting basic odor components such as ammonia, which is the main odor component in urine excretion excreted from pets such as dogs and cats, with citric acid impregnated in toilet sand Converts to solid substances such as ammonium citrate or odorless components and does not diffuse and volatilize odors indoors.

(2) Evaluation of Ammonia Odor Deodorization Ability At approximately the center of a box-shaped closed container having an inner volume of 0.01 m 3 , ammonia water having a concentration of 0.5 wt% was spiked from a small hole opened at the center of the closed box ceiling. After dropping 10 cc, the spoiler is pulled out, and then a Kitagawa gas detector tube is inserted into the small hole. Five minutes after the dropwise addition of the ammonia water, the ammonia concentration was measured with a detector tube. As the standard blank value, the same rhyolite pumice (Ishikawa Wright) used in the examples was used, the ammonia concentration was measured by the same method as described above, and the ammonia odor deodorization rate was calculated from the concentration ratio.

(3) Evaluation of Deodorizing Ability of Hydrogen Sulfide Odor In the same manner as in the measurement of the ammonia concentration in (2), hydrogen sulfide having a concentration of 0.05% by weight was used as a dropping solution, and a hydrogen sulfide detector tube was used. At this time, rhyolite pumice (Ishikawa Wright) was used as a standard blank value, the hydrogen sulfide concentration after 5 minutes was measured, and the hydrogen sulfide odor deodorization rate was calculated from the concentration ratio.

From the results in this table, when the mixing ratio of the component-impregnated pumice exceeds 50 wt% (Example 1), the solidification strength is extremely lowered, and the mixing ratio of the component-impregnated pumice falls below 10 wt% (Example 1). ) Indicates that the deodorization rate is extremely low.

The rhyolitic pumice which is the base sand to be impregnated may be any other porous mineral such as pumice stone in addition to Ishikawalite, and the substance which reacts with the odorous component may be ammonia in urine. Acetic acid that neutralizes with base components such as acetic acid, sodium carbonate or the like that neutralizes with acidic components such as hydrogen sulfide, etc. may be used. 10 by weight
% To less than 50%, the effect of the present invention is not impaired even if it is constituted by mixing with bentonite granules. In addition to bentonite powder, kaolinite powder may be used as a component solidified by urine moisture.
In addition to MC, silica sol or the like may be used. In addition, an antibacterial material, a pigment, an aromatic material, a water absorbing material, or the like can be easily added as an additive. Further, in the present invention, the content of the auxiliary material to which the component is attached is set to 10% or more and less than 50%, but more preferably 1%.
When it is 0% or more and 20% or less, it has strong deodorizing property and can maintain the solidification strength by urine.

As described above, the pet litter of the present invention has a strong deodorizing performance by impregnating pumice with a reactive component that neutralizes the excrement odor component, and has a pumice swelling and coagulating function. By mixing the fine powder component with the bentonite granules at a weight ratio of 50:50 to 10:90, the solidification strength of the nodules due to excretions such as urine does not decrease.
