Abstract

PURPOSE: To execute uniform and automatic welding and to specify welding conditions by installing a self-traveling welding machine having a means for letting off a welding rod and electric welding means to an annular body for guiding which encloses the weld zone of pile heads in proximity thereto. CONSTITUTION: The end plates 3, 4 of a upper pile 1 and a lower pile 2 are pressed and a tightening band 7 of the annular body 6 for guiding is mounted on the outer side of a band 5 connected to the end plate 3 of the upper pile 1. This tightening band 7 of the annular body 6 for guiding is longitudinally provided with a guide rail 9 via a connecting part 8. Driving wheels 12 mounted at the machine body 11 of the self-traveling machine 10 are installed at the upper and lower edges of the guide rail 9. The driving wheels 12 rotate and the machine body 11 moves when the circuit of a motor 17 is turned on.
