2. Description of the Related Art As is well known, medical endoscopes such as gastroscopes and duodenal scopes are used for observing and treating an affected part by inserting the insertion part into the body cavity of the patient. A mechanism for directing a forceps to a desired affected part when a biopsy tissue is collected or treated using the forceps while observing the affected part is a treatment tool raising device. Basically, a treatment instrument raising device is disclosed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 6-14
As disclosed in 873, it comprises a treatment tool raising base rotatably provided around the raising shaft at the distal end portion of the insertion portion, and a raising operation wire (also referred to as raising wire) connected to the treatment instrument raising base. The direction of the forceps is determined by adjusting the angle of the treatment tool raising base by moving the raising operation wire forward and backward with the hand operation portion.
