ようにヘツドスライダのローリング(記憶媒体の走行方
向に平行な軸に関する回転運動)とピツチング(記憶媒
体の走行方向に直行し、かつ記憶媒体面に平行な軸に関
する回転運動)を許容し得る適度の柔軟性を持つことが
要求される。

長手方向に関する長さが該長手方向に略垂直な方向に関
する長さよりも長くなるように形成された複数の板バネ
を、該長手方向に略垂直な方向に関して並列に間隔を有
して配置することにより構成されていることを特徴とす
る磁気記録再生装置を提供する。

ツドスライダ支持機構の一実施例を示す。荷重用ビーム
13は一端に一対の片持梁20、ヘツドスライダ22、および
ヘツドスライダ取付部21を有し、他端に複数の弾性部15
が形成されている。この弾性部15は、荷重用ビーム13の
長手方向に関する長さがその幅方向に関する長さよりも
長く形成された複数の板バネを該連結部材の幅方向に関
して並列に間隔を有して配置することにより構成されて
いる。ここで、荷重用ビーム13の長手方向とは、ヘッド
スライダ22等を有する一端と、弾性部15を有する他端と
を結んだ方向をいい、荷重用ビーム13の幅方向とは、上
記した長手方向に略垂直な方向をいうものとする。ま
た、弾性部15はキヤリツジ固定部16を介してキヤリツジ
アーム17に連接されている。なお、キャリッジアーム
は、記憶媒体上で磁気ヘッドを所定の位置に移動させる
機能を有する。ここでそれぞれの弾性部15は荷重用ビー
ム13と一体的に形成されているが、実質的なバネ作用部
としての機能はフランジ14により分離されている。即
ち、フランジ14を設けることにより、荷重用ビーム13の
剛性を高め、ヘッドスライダをシークする際の無用の振
動を防止し、磁気ヘッドの位置決め精度並びに応答特性
を向上させることが可能となる。弾性部と弾性部との間
の空間23は、この部分の応力集中の影響を緩和するため
の効果も有するものである。荷重用ビーム13には、図中
の空間23のため、従来の単一の板バネに比べバネ定数が
弱くなる。従ってバネ定数が一定の場合バネ部長さを短
くすることができる。また、複数の板バネを空間23を介
して並列に配置することによりヘツドスライダの負荷荷
重が小さい場合でも、シーク方向および走行方向の剛性
を比較的高く設定することができる。また、スライダ取
付部およびこれを支える一対の片持梁は低可撓性材料か
らなり、走行する記憶媒体面の動きに応じてピツチング
およびローリング運動を行うことができる。

して並列に間隔を有して配置することにより構成されて
