Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent heating of a fuse box or the like in which a crimp terminal and a terminal housing chamber are arranged by radiating heat generated in the crimp terminal and an electric wire connecting part. CONSTITUTION: A heat radiating sheet 1 by covering the whole surface with insulating resin 4 by leaving one side peripheral edge of heat conductive almost rectangular metallic foil 3, is provided. An insulating resin covered part of this heat radiating sheet is used as a heat radiating part 1b, and a part uncovered with the insulating resin is formed as a calking part 1a, and the calking part of the heat radiating sheet is wound round outer peripheral surfaces of a conductor barrel 2b and an insulating covered barrel 2c of a crimp terminal 2, and is installed in a condition where the other opposed side is projected to the electric wire side. When the conductor barrel and the insulating covered barrel are respectively calked and crimped to an exposed conductor of an electric wire and insulating covering, the heat radiating sheet is crimped to the conductor barrel and the insulating covered barrel at the same time. When the crimp terminal is housed in a terminal housing chamber of a fuse box or the like, an end part of the heat radiating sheet is positioned in the vicinity of the opening end 5a of the terminal housing chamber 5.

Heat is likely to be locally generated around the connecting portion between the core wire of the electric wire and the crimp terminal, that is, around the caulking portion of the core wire by the core wire barrel. When heat is generated, the resistance value becomes large and the maximum energization amount decreases, and at the same time, the resin housing of the connector housing, relay box, fuse box, etc. in which the terminal accommodating chamber is installed is softened by heating, and finally the case. There was also a risk of melting.

In particular, when connecting the electric wire on the power supply side and the electric wire on the load side in the fuse box through a fuse, as shown in FIG. 5, a crimp terminal T1 connected to the electric wire W on the power supply side through which a large current flows. Since the width of the core barrel V of the crimp terminal T1 is narrow at the connecting portion between the fuse H and the male tab T2 of the fuse H,
There is a problem in that the resistance value becomes high, heat is easily generated by energization, and the fuse box is easily heated.

In the method for connecting a crimp terminal and an electric wire according to claim 1, the heat dissipation sheet is used by cutting a long sheet, and the heat dissipation sheet is crimped and crimped between the crimp terminal and the electric wire. At the same time, since it is only crimped to the outer peripheral surfaces of the core wire barrel and the insulation-coated barrel of the crimp terminal, it does not take time to attach the heat dissipation sheet. Moreover, since it is attached by crimping not only to the core barrel but also to the insulation-coated barrel,
The heat-dissipating sheet does not come off from the crimp terminal and is securely attached.

In the connection structure of the crimp terminal and the electric wire according to claim 2 which are connected by the method according to claim 1,
Since a heat dissipation sheet with good thermal conductivity is attached to the outer peripheral surface of the core wire barrel of the crimp terminal that is connected to the core wire of the electric wire,
The heat locally generated in the electrical connection portion can be conducted to the outside through the heat radiation sheet from the opening side of the terminal accommodating chamber. Therefore, the crimp terminal becomes high heat due to heat generation, the maximum energization amount is reduced, and it is possible to prevent the thermal influence due to the reduction of the energization amount to the load side component. Moreover, it is possible to prevent softening of the resin-made terminal housing box due to heating. In addition, since the insulating resin is laminated on the surface of the heat dissipation sheet,
No short circuit will occur by contact with other terminals or parts.

Further, since the heat radiation sheet is a thin and flexible sheet, it is easily bent when the crimp terminal to which the heat radiation sheet is attached is inserted into the terminal accommodating chamber of the fuse box, relay box or connector housing. Therefore, it does not interfere with the insertion of the crimp terminal. Therefore, since the heat dissipation area is increased and the heat dissipation effect is increased, even if the heat dissipation sheet is enlarged, it can be inserted into the terminal accommodating chamber due to bending.

It is preferable that the heat radiation sheet 1 is formed as a long sheet as shown by the alternate long and short dash line in FIG. The metal foil 3 is not limited to copper foil, and aluminum foil or the like is preferably used as long as it has good thermal conductivity. Similarly, the insulating resin 4 to be laminated is not limited to vinyl chloride resin and polyethylene is used. Resin may be used. Further, although the insulating resin 4 is laminated and covered, the insulating resin may be sprayed onto the surface of the metal foil to cover the surface.

The heat dissipation sheet 1 is attached to the crimp terminal 2 by the method shown in FIG. 4, which will be described later, but when the crimp terminal is attached, the crimped portion 1b which is not laminated is attached to the crimp terminal 2.
The length L1 is set so that the core wire barrel 2b and the insulating coating barrel 2c can be crimped, and when the heat radiating portion 1a is inserted into the terminal accommodating chamber 5 of the fuse box as shown by a dotted line in FIG. The length L2 slightly protruding from the opening end 5a of the accommodation chamber 5 is set. The tip of the heat radiating portion 1b does not necessarily have to project from the opening end 5a, but it is preferable to project it from the opening end 5a to the outside because the heat radiation effect is enhanced.

With the above structure, when the crimp terminal 2 is energized and heat is locally generated at the position of the core wire barrel 2b, it is transmitted to the heat dissipation sheet 1 having good heat conductivity,
Through the heat dissipation sheet 1, heat can be dissipated from the outside of the terminal accommodating chamber 5 into the air. The heat radiation amount varies depending on the size of the heat radiation sheet 1, but for example, approximately 10 judes can be radiated. As a result, it is possible to prevent heat from being accumulated in the inside of the terminal accommodating chamber 5 and being heated. As a result, heating of the crimp terminal 2 itself is suppressed, and it is possible to prevent a decrease in the maximum energization amount due to an increase in resistance value, and it is also possible to prevent softening of the fuse box provided with the terminal accommodating chamber due to heating.

Further, since the heat radiating sheet 1 is made of a flexible thin sheet, it can be inserted into the terminal accommodating chamber 5 while flexing, and the heat radiating sheet 1 having a large area can improve the heat radiating performance. The insertion into the terminal accommodating chamber can be easily performed.

As is apparent from the above description, according to the method for connecting a crimp terminal and an electric wire of claim 1 of the present invention, the heat radiation sheet is simultaneously crimped in the step of crimping the crimp terminal and the electric wire. Since the heat dissipating sheet is attached to the crimp terminal, a special work process for attaching the heat dissipating sheet is unnecessary, and the heat dissipating sheet can be attached to the crimp terminal without increasing the number of steps.

According to the connection structure of the crimp terminal and the electric wire of claim 2 which are connected by the method of claim 1, a heat dissipation sheet having good thermal conductivity is crimped onto the core wire barrel of the crimp terminal to be fixed in contact therewith. Therefore, the heat locally generated in the core barrel portion can be radiated to the outside through the heat dissipation sheet, reducing the amount of heat generation and not reducing the maximum energization amount to other parts connected to the load side. The heat effect of can be avoided.
