Abstract

PURPOSE: To collect efficiently a small quantity of essential oil obtained by steam distillation by inserting a thin, transparent glass tube with open ends into a transparent outer cylinder with bottom and attaching a silicon funnel to the upper end of the glass tube and a side drain tube to the outer cylinder. CONSTITUTION: A transparent cylinder 1 with bottom is filled in advance with water to the height of a side drain tube 4. Since both ends of a thin, transparent glass tube 3 are open, the water level of the tube 3 is equal to that of the cylinder 1. Distillate containing a small quantity of essential oil from a cooler is led into the tube 3 by a silicon funnel 2. All the oil floats on the water in the tube 3. Besides, water is led from the bottom of the tube 3 into the cylinder 1 and then discharged outside the cylinder 1 through a side drain tube 4. In this way, a small quantity of essential oil obtained by steam distillation is collected on the water in the tube 3 to be pipetted out efficiently.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been made on the assumption that a relatively small amount of essential oil is self-produced at home or school. The present invention is an apparatus for collecting precious essential oil obtained by the steam distillation method without waste. If you make your own essential oils at home or school, the amount of essential oils that can be obtained is small due to the limited available herbs.
