Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an essence being extracted from lavender of a specific mating species, showing excellent enhancing action on immunological function through fragrance, useful as an immunopotentiator, a cosmetic and an aroma for raising immunological function. CONSTITUTION: This essence is an essence of lavender of a mating species made by using a true lavender (Lavandula angustiforia) as a mother and a spike lavender (Lavandula latiforia) as a father. The essence is obtained by castrating a not flowered lavender two or three days before an expected day of mating, bagging the lavender, picking a stamen of a spike lavender on the expected day of mating, applying pollen to the pistil of the true lavender, germinating a seed obtained from a pollinated flower, raising the seed to obtain a plant, selecting an excellently raised individual having an improved color to give a lavender of mating species, drying and finely cutting the lavender and subjecting the finely cut lavender to steam distillation or extracting it with an organic solvent.

[Means for Solving the Problems] In view of the above situation, the inventors of the present invention have conducted earnest studies, and as a result, produced genuine lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) as a mother and spike lavender (Lavandula latifolia) as a father. It was discovered that the hybrid lavender (hereinafter referred to as the improved lavender) that had a scent that had the effect of enhancing the immune function, and applied for a patent. (Japanese Patent Application No. 5-178255) As a result of further detailed research,
It was confirmed that the fragrance composition obtained from this improved lavender also has an action of enhancing the immune function through the scent.
It was found that a cosmetic or fragrance that enhances immune function can be provided by forming this fragrance composition into a cosmetic or a fragrance, and completed the invention.

The improved lavender used in the present invention is described in detail in the above-mentioned Japanese Patent Application No. 5-178.
As described in 255, it has a special immunopotentiating effect as compared with other lavenders, and its production method is to emanate unflowered true lavender about 2-3 days before the scheduled mating date, The bag is hung up, the stamens of spiked lavender are picked with tweezers on the scheduled mating day, pollen is applied to the female core of genuine lavender, seeds are obtained from the pollinated flowers, this is germinated, and this is grown to obtain a plant. It was Improved lavender can be obtained by selecting individuals having good growth and excellent flower color among these plants. At this time, the flower color should be selected based on the following. That is, the surface color of the upper flower color is 10.0 PB5.0 in the color table according to JISZ8721.

The improved lavender thus obtained contains a fragrance component having an action of enhancing immunity to flowers and plants as a whole, and enhances immunity by extracting the fragrance component from flowers or whole plants by a conventional method. It is possible to obtain a perfume ingredient having an action. Specific examples of the method for extracting the fragrance component include a steam distillation method, a pressing method, a solvent extraction method, and a distillation method. A substance having an immunopotentiating effect can be extracted by any method. Considering the extraction efficiency, the steam distillation method and the solvent extraction method are preferable. Of these, in the solvent extraction method,
As the solvent to be used, hydrocarbons such as hexane and petroleum ether, ethers such as diethyl ether, acetone,
One or more selected from ketones such as methyl ethyl ketone, alcohols such as methanol and ethanol, halogenated hydrocarbons such as chloroform and methylene chloride, and the like can be exemplified. The solvent extraction may be carried out by immersing it in the solvent at room temperature for several days, or by immersing it in the vicinity of the boiling point of the solvent for several hours while stirring. Then, the insoluble matter is removed by filtration or the like, and then concentrated to obtain a fragrance component.

The essence thus obtained can be mixed with other fragrances to give a fragrance composition for perfuming. At this time, the preferable blending amount of the essence of the present invention is 0.
1 to 90% by weight is suitable. This is because if the amount is less than 0.1% by weight, the immunopotentiating effect cannot be expected, and if the amount exceeds 90% by weight, the effect reaches the ceiling. The essence of the present invention can be blended into various dosage forms such as an external preparation for skin, a bath agent, a cleansing agent, and a fragrance according to a conventional method either as a fragrance composition containing the essence or as an essence alone.

Example 14 Measurement of Immunity-Enhancing Effect With respect to the lotion of Example 4, changes in the concentration of secretory immunoglobulin A in saliva before and after its use were measured to determine the immunity-enhancing effect of the cosmetic composition of the present invention. I confirmed. That is,
A lotion of 10 people in each group was used, and the essence of Example 2 was replaced with a normal lavender oil for the lotion of Example 4 (Example) and the fragrance composition in the lotion of Example 4 (Comparative Example). , Saliva was collected before and after use of the lotion in three groups of the perfume composition of Example 3 in which the perfume composition of Example 3 was replaced with water (control example), and secretory immunoglobulin A in saliva was collected. Was measured by the sandwich antibody method of Nishida et al. ("The History of Medicine" 129 (11),
767-770, 1984).

2 ml of 1N sulfuric acid was added to the test tube to stop the enzymatic reaction, and the absorbance was measured at 492 nm. The concentration of secretory immunoglobulin A was calculated from the ratio of the absorbances of the standard solution and the test solution. Table 1 shows the rate of increase in the concentration of secretory immunoglobulin A after using the lotion as compared with before use. Than this,
It can be seen that the lotion of the present invention has an excellent immune enhancing effect.

Example 15 Immunopotentiating Effect A panel of 10 persons per group was allowed to stay in a closed room with room fragrance for 30 minutes, and the concentration of secretory immunoglobulin A in saliva before and after the stay Was measured. The room fragrance used was the room fragrance of Example 13 (Example), or the room fragrance of Example 13 in which the essence of Example 2 was replaced with normal lavender oil (Comparative Example). The method for measuring the concentration of secretory immunoglobulin A was in accordance with Example 14. Table 2 shows the results. From this, it is understood that the room fragrance of the present invention has an excellent immune enhancing effect.
