Claims (9)
- 1.放射線検出器であって、シンチレーション結晶と、光学的放射線を電荷キャ リアに変換するための手段と、発生された電荷キャリアを検出するための検出手 段とを備えるものにおいて、 前記結晶1と前記検出手段9との間に位置する電荷キャリアの通路を抑制する手 段17を備える間隙19を特徴とする放射線検出器。
- 2.前記電荷キャリアの通路を抑制する手段が、前記シンチレーション結晶に直 接に近接した逆バイアスグリッド13を備えることを特徴とする請求項1記載の 放射線検出器。
- 3.前記結晶が前記シンチレーション結晶から0.5乃至1.0mm離間されて いることを特徴とする請求項2記載の放射線検出器。
- 4.前記バイアスが100Vのオーダーであることを特徴とする請求項3記載の 放射線検出器。
- 5.異なる場を横断して適用された間隙3,21を増幅させる電荷の連続を含む ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の放射線検出器。
- 6.一対の電荷増幅された間隙を含み、その第1は幅が3ミリメートルのオーダ ーであり、その第2は幅が9ミリメートルのオーダーであることを特徴とする請 求項5記載の放射線検出器。
- 7.前記各々の間隙を横断して適用された300V/mm及び150V/mmの オーダーの場を特徴とする請求項6記載の放射線検出器。
- 8.前記電荷キャリアの通路を抑制する手段が、前記結晶と前記検出手段との間 に配置されたゲート電極17を含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の放射線検出 器。
- 9.放射線を検出する方法であって、光学的放射線を発生させるためにシンチレ ーション結晶を使用することと、前記光学的放射線を光子イオン化媒体により電 荷を生成するように使用することと、電場内の前記電荷を増加させることと、前 記増加された電荷を場生成電極の間の間隙を横断するようにドリフトさせること により、前記電荷キャリアからの信号を駆動することと、前記電荷キャリアのド リフト経路内に位置するゲート電極を制御するために前記信号を使用することと を備える。
