器具ハウジング用等に用いられる不飽和ポリエステル樹
脂成形材料に関するものである。

従来、不飽和ポリエステル樹脂成形材料はその優れた強
度、成形性により電気構造部品用等に広く用いられてい
るが、耐摩耗性に劣る問題があり、この為、充填剤とし
てアスベストを用いて耐摩耗性を向上させてきたが充填
剤として用いられているアスベストが公害問題で用いら
れなくなりアスベストに代替する充填剤が求められてい
た。

た成形品が得られる不飽和ポリエステル樹脂成形材料を

本発明は不飽和ポリエステル樹脂に充填剤、架橋剤、重
合開始剤、離型剤、着色剤等を添加してなる不飽和ポリ
エステル樹脂成形材料において、充填剤として繊維状ケ
イ酸マグネシウム系化合物を用いたことを特徴とするも
ので、かくして得られた成形材料を加熱加圧成形するこ
とによって耐燃性、耐摩耗性に優れた不飽和ポリエステ
ル樹脂成形品を得ることができるもので、以下本発明を
詳細に説明する。

できるものである。架橋剤としてはスチレンモノマー等
の常温液状のもの或は常温固体のものを用いることがで
き、これまた限定するものではないが耐熱性向上のため
にはジアリルフタレートモノマーを用いるのがよく、又
架橋剤と併用してトリアリルイソシアヌレートを配合し
架橋密度を上げることで耐熱性をより向上させることも
できるものである。

ードプラス55〔武田薬品株式会社製、主成分SiO2・MgO
・Al2O3〕等があり、この他更にケイ酸マグネシウムを
主成分としてCaO,H2O等を含有する繊維状物質全般を包
含するものである。繊維状ケイ酸マグネシウム系化合物
の量は全量の3〜80重量%(以下単に%と記す)である
ことが望ましい。即ち3%未満では耐クラック性が向上
し難く、80%をこえると成形性が低下する傾向にあるか
らである。なお繊維状ケイ酸マグネシウム系化合物以外
の充填剤としてはパルプ、木粉、炭酸カルシウム、ガラ
ス繊維、クレー、シリカ、タルク等を添加することがで
きる。重合開始剤、離型剤、着色剤或は必要に応じて添
加される界面活性剤、増粘剤等については特に限定する
ものではなく通常用いられているものをそのまま用いる
ことができる。かくして得られた不飽和ポリエステル樹
脂成形材料を圧縮成形、押出成形、トランスフアー成
形、射出成形等により加熱加圧成形し耐燃性、耐摩耗性
に優れた成形品を得ることができるものである。
