A step of bringing the small-diameter slit holes of the first masking member close to each other, and spray-applying the top-coat paint through the small-diameter slit holes, and bringing the large-diameter slit hole of the second masking member close to the spray-coated portion. A step of spray-coating clear paint through the large-diameter slit hole was provided so that the diameter of the small-diameter slit hole was changed corresponding to the area of the defective coating spot.

A base member made of a magnet sheet is magnetically adhered to the coated surface, a repair opening provided in the base member is aligned with the center of a polishing portion, and a first masking member is positioned on the base member to form a first masking member. Any one of a plurality of small-diameter slit holes provided in the masking member is aligned with the center of the polishing portion, and a second masking member made of a magnet sheet is magnetically adhered to the first masking member. The large-diameter slit hole provided in the second masking member is aligned with the center of the polishing portion, and the top-coat paint is spray-applied through the small-diameter slit hole first, and then the first masking member is extracted to obtain the large-diameter The clear paint was sprayed through the slit holes.

The top coat paint is spray-coated with the spray gun 8a through the small-diameter slit hole h of the masking plate 2. Then, the top-coat paint that has diffused through the small-diameter slit holes h is uniformly applied to the limited portion e in and around the repair recess p to form the top-coat coating film 6a.

If the paint passing through is diffused, the passing paint spreads and diffuses from the repairing recess p having a diameter of about 30 mm, and the coating film 6a is applied to the peripheral limited portion e.
It was proved that the thickness of the film was flattened and the film thickness was not wasted.

After that, a large-diameter slit hole was brought close to the location, and the clear paint was spray-applied through this large-diameter slit hole, so it was possible to efficiently apply an appropriate amount of paint for both the topcoat paint and the clear paint. It is possible to reduce the polishing work in the process of. Moreover, the amount of paint can be reduced. If the small-diameter slit hole is changed according to the area of the defective portion, the coating amount can be adjusted more appropriately. If the base member and the second masking member are made of a magnet sheet, and the first masking member is sandwiched between the base member and the second masking member to be magnetically adhered, it is attached like a conventional masking tape. The number of stripping steps can be reduced and the masking work is easy. Moreover, it is cheaper than a masking tape because it can be used repeatedly many times.
