Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent any offensive noise or impact due to a rebound spring of a hydraulic shock absorber from occurring as well as to make improvements in the assemblingness of a guide. CONSTITUTION:A flange member 11 is attached tight to the upper part of a piston 7 of a piston rod 6, while a rebound spring 17 pressed-in and installed with each of sectional L-shaped guides 15 and 16 at both ends is installed in an interval between a lower end face of a rod guide 5 and a top face of the flange member 11, whereby the upper guide 15 is fittingly installed on a peripheral surface of the piston rod 6 free of slide motion in letting it have a clearance, and the lower guide 16 pressed-in and clamped tight onto the peripheral surface of the piston rod 6.

2. Description of the Related Art As a hydraulic shock absorber used in a vehicle or the like, as disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 4-14835, guides having an L-shaped cross section are attached to both ends of a rebound spring. Both are slidably fitted on the outer peripheral surface of the piston rod.
As disclosed in JP-A-51469, a lower end of a rebound spring is attached to a guide that is hooked on a step portion of a piston rod and prevented from moving upward, and disclosed in JP-A-4-82441. As described above, there is known one in which the upper end side of the rebound spring is fixed to the rod guide and the lower end side is attached to a guide slidably fitted on the outer peripheral surface of the piston rod.

A damper cylinder 2 is erected in the outer tube 1, and a piston rod 6 inserted from above the outer tube 1 through an oil seal 4 held by a holder 3 and a rod guide 5 is placed inside the damper cylinder 2. No, a piston 7 which is in sliding contact with the inner peripheral surface of the damper cylinder 2 is fixed to the tip of the piston rod 6, and a damping force generating oil passage 8 is formed in the piston 7.

A flange member 11 is fixed above the piston 7 of the piston rod 6, and between the lower end surface of the rod guide 5 and the upper surface of the flange member 11, guides made of resin or the like having an L-shaped cross section are provided at both ends. A rebound spring 17 into which 15 and 16 are press-fitted is arranged.

Here, the upper guide 15 is slidably fitted to the outer peripheral surface of the piston rod 6 with a clearance, and the lower guide 16 is press-fitted and fixed to the outer peripheral surface of the piston rod 6. This lower guide 16 is shown in FIGS.
As shown in Fig. 5, there are several linear projections 18 having an arcuate cross section and extending in the axial direction on the inner peripheral surface (here, there are four, but there are three or five or more. May be formed) and is press-fitted and fixed to the outer peripheral surface of the piston rod 6.

As described above, the guides 15 and 16 having an L-shaped cross section are press-fitted into both ends of the rebound spring 17, and the upper guide 15 is slidably fitted on the outer peripheral surface of the piston rod 6, and the lower guide 15 is attached. Since the guide 16 is fixed to the outer peripheral surface of the piston rod 6, it is possible to prevent the lower end side of the rebound spring 17 from coming into contact with the flange member 11 and generating an unpleasant sound or impact.
