Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the mounting structure of a connector which can mount a connector for performing the electric connection with outside with good balance of center of gravity and compactly at the end of a printed board. CONSTITUTION:A cut 17 is made, leaving both wings 18, at the end of a printed board 16, and projections 14 are projected on both sides of a connector 11, and this connector 11 is inserted into the cut 17, and the projections 14 are put on both wings 18. In the condition that this connector 11 is mounted on the printed board 16, the center of gravity of the connector 11 balances. Moreover, there is no such trouble that the connector is wrenched and that the lead 13 parts from the terminal 20, and further the whole can be thinned.

FIG. 12 is a side view showing a conventional connector mounting structure. In the connector 1, leads 3 extend forward from a front surface of a connector body 2 made of a synthetic resin mold body. A circuit pattern is formed on the upper surface of the printed board 4, and the connector 1 is mounted on the printed board 4 with the leads 3 grounded to the terminals at the ends of the circuit pattern. In this case, as shown in the drawing, the connector 1 is often mounted with its rear part protruding from the printed circuit board 4. The printed circuit board 4 on which the connector 1 is mounted is sent to the heating furnace of the reflow apparatus, and the leads 3 and terminals are soldered.

However, in the above-described conventional connector mounting structure, since the connector 1 is mounted with its rear portion protruding from the printed circuit board 4, the mounting state is unstable, and after mounting, soldering is performed. Until then, there is a problem that the connector 1 is displaced and the lead 3 is easily dropped from the terminal of the circuit pattern, or is easily dropped from the printed board 4 as shown by an arrow N1.

Further, since the overall thickness W becomes thicker, it is difficult to make it compact and compact, and the center in the thickness direction of the connector 1 and the center in the thickness direction of the printed circuit board 4 are deviated by a distance D. An arrow N is attached to the connector 1 for the force F when the connector pin is inserted from the rear of the connector 1.
There is a problem that the lead 3 is easily separated from the terminal due to the addition of a rotational moment in two directions, that is, a direction in which the connector 1 is twisted.

In the mounted state, the rear portion of the connector 11 does not protrude from the printed circuit board 16 and the center of gravity G of the connector 11 is closer to the lead 13 than the protruding portion 14, and the connector 11 is provided with the lead 13 in the direction of arrow N3. A rotational moment due to its own weight acts in the direction in which it is pressed against the terminal 20 (see FIG. 2), so that the lead 13 can be firmly grounded to the terminal 20 and can be mounted with a good center of gravity. Further, since the overall thickness W can be reduced, and the centers of the connector 11 and the printed board 16 in the thickness direction substantially match,
The connector 11 is not twisted by the force F for inserting the pin of the external connector from the rear, and the lead 13 is not separated from the terminal 20.

The printed circuit board 16 on which the connector 11 is mounted in this way is sent to the heating furnace of the reflow apparatus and the leads 13 and the terminals 20 are soldered, but the mounted state of the connector 11 is stable. In particular, the positional deviation of the connector 11 in the lateral direction (the width direction of the lead 13) is regulated by contacting both side surfaces of the connector body 12 with the inner side surfaces of the wing portions 18 (see FIG. 5). The lead 13 can be soldered without being detached from the terminal 20 while being surely grounded to the terminal 20.

(Embodiment 2) FIG. 6 is a perspective view of a connector according to a second embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 7 is a side view showing the same connector mounted on a printed circuit board. The protrusion 14a of the second embodiment differs from that of the first embodiment in that it is a pin. In the connector of the second embodiment, the same operational effect as that of the first embodiment is obtained, such as the rotational moment due to the weight of the connector 11 acting in the direction of the arrow N3.

The connector 11 is inserted into the notch 17, and the protrusion 23 is placed on both wings 18. Then printed circuit board 1
6 is sent to the heating furnace of the reflow apparatus, and the leads 13 are soldered to the terminals 20. After the soldering is completed, as shown by the chain line in FIG.
It is ruptured from and separated and removed. According to the fifth embodiment, the connector main body 12 can have a structure protruding from the end portion of the printed board 16, and can have a mounting structure suitable for a card module such as a memory card or a card computer. In addition, the both wings 18 are connected to the printed circuit board 1
The separating means for separating and removing from 6 is not limited to the fifth embodiment, and perforations may be formed instead of the V groove 22, for example. As is apparent from the above embodiments, the present invention can be modified in various ways.

As described above, according to the connector mounting structure of the present invention, the balance of the center of gravity of the connector is stable when the connector is mounted on the printed circuit board, and the connector may drop from the printed circuit board or lead of the connector. Does not fall off from the terminals of the circuit pattern, and by making the center of the connector and the printed board in the thickness direction match as much as possible, when the pins of the external connector are inserted into the connector, the connector is twisted and the leads come out of the terminals. Many excellent effects can be obtained, such as being able to make the whole thin without leaving.
