In recent years, automated teller machines have a large number of bill circulation mechanisms that utilize deposited bills also as bills for dispensing. In addition to this, it is becoming more important than ever to prevent the device from stopping because the device is operating on holidays. In particular, the banknotes deposited by the general user into the apparatus are irregularly deformed, including folds and tears, so that some of them are in a considerably bad state to be handled by a machine. For this reason, when a large number of banknotes are piled up one by one by the separating mechanism, they may collide with the guides of the separating rollers that form the separating mechanism, and the banknotes may not be drawn out, and the apparatus may stop.

When a large number of banknotes having large deformations such as short two-folded bills and short four-folded bills are in a piled state, a pickup roller for feeding the bills comes into contact with the bill group and rotates. , The banknotes collide with a guide member provided in the vicinity of the gate roller due to the large deformation of the banknotes before the banknote group is fed out and enters the separation point composed of the feed roller and the gate roller. become. However, by making the shape of the guide member a chamfered shape at the position where the banknote folds, the collision between the banknote and the guide member can be eliminated, and a large number of these banknotes with large deformation are piled up. Even in this case, the bills can be properly fed to the separation point by the pickup roller.

Next, the two-fold foldable bill a shown in FIG. 7 and FIG.
When the position of the fold of the banknote is at a position facing the gate roller guide 39, as in the case of the four-fold foldable banknote B shown in (4), the position corresponds to the positions of the folds a and b of the banknote of the gate roller guide 39. Since the part is chamfered,
Due to the rotation of the pickup roller 13a and the conveyance force of the high friction coefficient member 46a of the pickup roller 13a, the bills are fed to the feed roller 12a and the gate roller 14a.
Even when it is fed to the separation point constituted by, the gate roller guide 39 does not collide with the fold a of the two-fold fold bill shown in FIG. 7 or the fold b of the four fold bill shown in FIG. Banknotes are feed roller 12a and gate roller 1
After being fed to the separation point constituted by 4a and separated into one sheet, the entire circumference of the pinch roller 42 and the feed roller is sent to the downstream conveying path by the sandwiching force between the pinch roller 42 and the portion of the high friction coefficient member 48.

1. A pickup roller for feeding a sheet, wherein a high friction coefficient member is provided in a part of the roller for feeding a sheet accumulated in a hopper or a storage section, and a sheet fed by the pickup roller. In order to separate the sheets one by one, a feed roller for feeding a sheet, which is provided with a high friction coefficient member in a part of the roller and rotates in the conveying direction, and a feed roller which is axially offset from the feed roller and faces the feed roller. And a gate roller for separating a sheet, which is provided so as to overlap with the sheet roller and is provided with a high friction coefficient member on the entire circumference that does not rotate in the conveying direction, and a sheet separating device that forms a separating point. The shape of the gate roller guide member having a plurality of widths provided on both sides in the transport direction is adjusted from the end of the guide that regulates the front end of the paper sheet to be separated to the feed roller. To the vicinity of the downstream of the separation point composed of the roller and the gate roller, formed by a smooth arc or curve so as not to prevent the entrance of the paper sheet, and where the gate roller guide member and the position of the fold of the paper sheet face each other. The shape of the gate roller guide member is a side surface corner shape of the gate roller guide member having a plurality of the widths provided on both sides of the gate roller on the side not adjacent to the gate roller, and is formed near the downstream of the separation point. As the chamfering amount is zero, the chamfering amount continuously changes in the width range of the gate roller guide member from the smooth arc or curved shape to the vicinity of the end of the guide that regulates the front end of the paper sheet group. A paper sheet separating device.
