Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a spine from being broken due to blocking by a method wherein two hot-melt bonding layers the melting points of which are different from each other, are pasted in advance onto mounting paper serving as spine under the condition that the melting point of the upper bonding layer is set to be higher than that of the lower bonding layer. CONSTITUTION:Onto low-melting hot-melt adhesive layer 2, hot-melt adhesive layer 1, the melting point of which is higher than that of the hot-melt adhesive layer 2 is laminated. Adhesives having the above-mentioned laminated constitution is pasted in advance onto mounting paper serving as spine 3. In this case, the total thickness of the adhesive layers 1 and 2 is set to be 0.1-1.5mm. Further, the thickness of the upper adhesive layer 1 is set to be 0.01-1.0mm. Furthermore, the preferable melting point of the upper hot-melt adhesive layer 1 is set to be about 60-80 deg.C, while that of the lower hot-melt adhesive layer 3 is set to be about 50-70 deg.C.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, what is called a gluing binder for bookbinding has a hot-melt adhesive applied to a backing sheet as a back cover in advance, or a hot-melt adhesive sheet (thickness: 0.05 to 1.5 kg / m 2 ) is attached,
The original is sandwiched between the spine and then the hot melt adhesive is melted by a heater to bond the original. The adhesive used in such means is mainly made of EVA, and is made by adding a tackifier such as rosin or petroleum resin, a viscosity adjusting agent such as wax, an antioxidant, an antioxidant, etc. It takes 1 to 2 minutes per book to melt and bond the hot melt adhesive, and it also requires time to cool and wait for the adhesive to fix even after melting and bonding the original. However, there is a drawback that it takes about 5 to 10 minutes before it can be handled.

The hot-melt adhesive for bookbinding is such that after the manuscript is sandwiched on the spine, it is melted on the heater of the bookbinding machine and penetrates and adheres to the manuscript. At this time, the melting of the hot-melt adhesive is just to the end. Due to heat conduction, heat travels down the spine and later reaches the hot melt adhesive. It takes about 15 to 30 seconds for the hot melt adhesive surface to reach a peak by heating. This greatly differs depending on the thickness of the hot melt adhesive, and if the thickness of the hot melt adhesive is thin, the time to reach the peak temperature is shortened and the melting time is shortened accordingly. However, the job of binding is
It is necessary for the melted hot melt adhesive to penetrate to the original side to some extent in order to obtain stable adhesion. Usually, the hot melt adhesive has a thickness of 0.9 m / m or more, Therefore, the time to reach the peak temperature was inevitably long.

However, the softening point of the above product is 1 in the lower layer.
The temperature is set in the range of 00 to 200 ° C. and 50 to 90 ° C. in the upper layer. However, when a hot melt adhesive is made with such a constitution and used for bookbinding, it takes 25 to 30 seconds for the adhesion time, and the conventional 30 seconds to 1 second. No significant time savings can be obtained.
Furthermore, the hot melt adhesive with this configuration is applied to the spine cover and then folded and stored until the spine cover is used, but the hot melt adhesive will not adhere to the spine cover with time and peel off. , If you try to peel it off forcibly, it will damage the spine, resulting in a loss of the spine's value.

As shown in FIG. 2, the bookbinding spine cover of the present invention has a hot-melt adhesive layer 1 having a melting point higher than that of the hot-melt adhesive layer 2 on the hot-melt adhesive layer 2 having a low melting point. The two-layered adhesive layered as shown in FIG. 1 is previously bonded on a backing sheet.

The upper hot-melt adhesive layer has a melting point of 6
When the temperature is lower than 0 ° C, the adhesive is heated and melted in a short time and penetrates into the original side, which is preferable, but the adhesiveness to the spine during storage increases, which is not preferable, and when the upper hot-melt adhesive layer 1 exceeds 80 ° C. Although it does not adhere to the spine cover during storage, it is preferable, but heating and melting of the adhesive takes time, and bookbinding time becomes long, which is not preferable.

If the melting point of the lower hot-melt adhesive layer 2 is less than 50 ° C., the temperature difference of the melting point of the upper-layer hot-melt adhesive layer 1 is too large, and the heat conduction to the upper layer is insufficient. If the temperature exceeds 70 ° C., it takes time to heat and melt the adhesive, and not only the bookbinding time becomes long, but also the penetration of the adhesive on the original side is insufficient, which is not preferable, and the above range is preferable.

In order to obtain the hot melt adhesive layer 1 as the upper layer and the hot melt adhesive layer 2 as the lower layer, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers having different vinyl acetate contents as the base polymer are mainly known rosins, petroleum resins, A tackifier and the like are mixed to prepare an upper layer hot melt adhesive layer 1 having a melting point of 60 to 80 ° C. and a lower layer hot melt adhesive layer 2 having a melting point of 50 to 70 ° C.

In the present invention, the hot melt adhesive having a two-layer structure for bookbinding is prepared by placing a Teflon sheet on a hot plate and keeping it at 100 to 110 ° C. Next, the lower layer hot-melt adhesive that was previously melted in a heating furnace was flowed down onto the Teflon sheet, and the 0.8m / m spacers placed on both ends of the Teflon sheet were pulled down by a doctor knife to remove the Teflon sheet. Apply hot melt adhesive on top. After that, the Teflon sheet coated with the hot melt adhesive is removed from the hot plate, and allowed to cool on the table to solidify to obtain a hot melt adhesive having a thickness of 0.6 m / m.

The two types of hot-melt adhesive sheets produced by the above method are laminated so that the surfaces of the hot-melt adhesives are superposed on each other, and then the hot-melt adhesive as the lower layer is placed on the lower surface of the hot plate. Then, the Teflon sheet was lightly touched to secure the bonding of the two kinds of adhesives. The hot-melt adhesive thus laminated was sandwiched between Teflon sheets, removed from the hot plate and allowed to cool and solidify. After that, peel off the hot melt adhesive from the Teflon sheet to a thickness of 0.7.
