When performing such bookbinding, conventionally, a stapler is used for binding, a document is perforated, and a string is used for binding.
A hot-melt adhesive is applied to the back of a document for binding, or an adhesive tape coated with a hot-melt adhesive is pressed against the back of a document for binding.

There is also a method of forming a hole in a document, filling or applying a liquid adhesive into the hole, and solidifying the same to perform bookbinding (Japanese Patent Publication No. 37-11568, Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 5568/1975).

However, with the above method, there is no problem when the amount of documents to be bound at one time is small, but when there are many documents such as 50 or more, it is not possible to bind or the appearance is bad even if they can be bound. I will end up. the above,
In this method, when the amount of documents to be bound at one time is extremely large, for example, 100 or more, and the thickness is 30 mm or more, it is difficult to align the spines of the documents and unevenness of about ± 0.2 mm or more occurs. It may end up. If there is a relatively large unevenness on the back of the document in this way, the adhesive or adhesive tape may partially float above the back of the document, and the adhesive may not sufficiently penetrate into the back of the document. However, bookbinding failure will occur. For this reason, in the above method, it is necessary to align the unevenness of the back of the document to about ± 0.1 mm or less, but this is very troublesome and takes a considerable time.

In the above method, a highly viscous liquid adhesive is used, and in order to uniformly fill or apply the adhesive to the holes provided in the sheets to be bound, a vacuum pump or an adhesive having nozzles smaller than the binding holes is used. A special adhesive supply means such as a coating device was required. Therefore, in any of the methods, there is a problem that a relatively expensive device is required for the bookbinding work. Further, in any of the methods, since a liquid adhesive that is solidified when left standing naturally is used, there is a problem that the pores in the adhesive supply portion are likely to be clogged. By the way, recently, with the diversification of information, the amount of documents to be bound at one time has increased dramatically.
It is normal to bind about 00 sheets at once, and sometimes 3

Therefore, conventionally, a paper aligner for automatically aligning documents and a bookbinding machine for automatically binding documents have been widely used. However, the method of using such a device naturally requires a special device, requires an equipment cost, requires a relatively large installation space, and further, the amount of documents to be bound at one time is small. Had the drawback of not being able to bind well.

The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and provides a bookbinding method that can easily and reliably perform bookbinding with a simple device even when the amount of sheets such as documents to be bound at one time is large. To aim.

In the present invention, a hole is formed at a predetermined position of the sheets to be bound,
This hole is filled with a granular hot-melt type adhesive, and this adhesive is melted using an ultrasonic element and then solidified, thereby binding the book. Therefore, in the present invention,
It suffices to prepare a simple device such as a punching machine and a melting means, and since the holes are filled with an adhesive, bookbinding can be reliably performed even if the spine of the paper has some irregularities.

In the case of binding a plurality of documents 1 in the form of a book in the present embodiment, first, as shown in FIG. 1, the spine 2 of the documents 1 is brought into contact with the upper surface of the desk several times and aligned. Next, as shown in FIG. 2, an appropriate number of holes 3 are formed at a predetermined position near the spine 2 of the document 1 using a commercially available punching machine (not shown). Next, as shown in FIG. 3, the document 1 is placed on the upper surface of a base 4 made of a metal plate or the like, and the holes 3 are filled with a granular hot-melt adhesive 5. Next, as shown in FIG. 4, the ultrasonic element 6 is pressed against the adhesive 5 and the adhesive 5 is melted by ultrasonic energy. As a result, the melted adhesive 5 adheres to the wall surface of the hole 3 and the document 1
Permeate appropriately. After that, the melted adhesive 5 is naturally solidified, and the bookbinding is completed.

As described above, in this embodiment, since the hole 5 is filled with the adhesive 5 and the adhesive 5 is melted and solidified, even if the spine 2 of the document 1 has a relatively large unevenness of, for example, about ± 0.2 mm. The book can be bound with certainty. Therefore, even if the work for aligning the spines 2 of the document 1 is roughly performed to some extent, no defective bookbinding occurs. As a result, even if the amount of the documents 1 to be bound is large, for example, 100 sheets or 300 sheets, the bookbinding can be surely performed. Further, in the present embodiment, since a simple device of the punching machine and the ultrasonic element 6 is used, the equipment cost is not so high and the installation space may be small. Further, even when the amount of the document 1 to be bound is small, such as a few sheets, the bookbinding can be surely performed.

As described above, according to the present invention, even if there is some unevenness on the spine of a paper such as a document, bookbinding can be reliably performed. It never happens. In addition, since a granular hot melt adhesive, that is, a solid adhesive in a normal state, is used for adhering the paper, a special device is used to fill the adhesive in the holes provided in the paper. do not need. Further, since the hot melt adhesive is melted by using the ultrasonic element, local heating becomes possible, and the bookbinding work can be performed more efficiently than when other melting means is used.
