By the way, as in the above-mentioned Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 56-49233 and Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 54-152833, covering the entire surface of the engine body with a sound insulating cover has the advantage of increasing the sound insulating effect, but on the other hand, Since the heat of the engine accumulates inside the sound insulation cover, cooling means is required, and the weight increases,
There is a problem in that there are problems such as poor maintainability.

Further, the above-mentioned Japanese Utility Model Laid-Open No. 51-34939 discloses the upper side shields fixed to both sides of the engine body above the internal combustion engine and the upper side shields fixed between the both side upper shields so as to be openable and closable. Although a sound insulation cover made of a plate is provided, however, when the sound insulation cover is provided close to the surfaces of the cylinder block and the oil pan, as shown in FIG. If the sound insulation covers 5 and 15 that are divided into parts of the oil pan 2 and the oil pan 2 are provided, there is also a restriction that the sound insulation cover 15 cannot be directly attached to the side wall of the oil pan 2, and thus the cylinder block 1 and the oil pan 2 are not provided. A space K in which there is no shielded area is generated between the parts and, that is, between the shielded area by the sound insulating cover 5 and the shielded area by the sound insulating cover 15, and noise of high vibration level P shown in FIG. 6 is generated from this space K. Leakage, it does not eliminate the problem that the sound insulation preventing effect becomes insufficient.

Therefore, in order to maintain maintainability, the first sound insulation cover 5 that covers the side wall 1a of the cylinder block 1 and the second sound insulation cover 15 that covers the side wall 2a of the oil pan 2 are divided into parts. Even then, the sound insulating cover 5 fixedly supported only at a position above the skirt of the cylinder block side wall 1a is used, and the sound insulating cover 15 on the oil pan 2 side can be connected to this through a connecting mechanism. Moreover, since the sound insulation covers are in a continuous state by this connecting mechanism, it is possible to prevent the high noise level P from leaking from the space K as shown in FIG.
As shown in the comparison diagram of the figure, noise can be reduced as compared with the conventional one in which the space K exists.

The sound insulation cover 5 is integrally formed with an inner sound absorbing material 6 and a shielding plate 7 covering the outer side of the sound absorbing material 6, and when the inner surface of the sound absorbing material 6 contacts the end surface of the boss 3, the space between the sound absorbing material 6 and the side wall 1a. Is maintained at a predetermined interval H. Further, the sound absorbing material 6 has its upper, lower, left and right end surfaces fixed to the shielding plate 7. An elastic ring 9 made of rubber or the like is interposed between the outside of the shield plate 7 and the mounting bolt 4 to prevent vibration of the sound insulation cover 5.

On the other hand, the second sound insulating cover 15 that covers the side wall 2a of the oil pan 2
Is integrally formed with a filler 16 made of an inside foam material or an elastic material such as rubber, and a shielding plate 17 covering the outside of the filler 16. The filler 16 has an inner side and an oil pan 2 Since a predetermined distance H is maintained between the oil pan 2 and the side wall 2a of the oil pan, the filler 16 can prevent low-frequency vibration of the oil pan 2 and vibration of the sound insulation cover 15, and the upper side of the surface of the oil pan side wall 2a on the lower side. Since the air gaps H open upward and downward are continuous over the surface of the side wall 1a of the cylinder block on the side, the heat of the engine can be efficiently released.

At the time of this connection, the space M is provided between the lower end of the shield plate 7 and the upper end of the shield plate 17, and the protrusion 19 extending upward above the filler 16 is provided, whereby the sound insulation cover 5 side is provided. Since the lower end surface of the sound absorbing material 6 and the upper end surface of the filling material 16 on the sound insulating cover 15 side are joined in a compressed state by tightening the mounting bolts 13, both sound insulating covers 5 and 15 are in a continuous state, so that the cylinder block Even if the sound insulation cover 5 on the first side and the sound insulation cover 15 on the oil pan 2 side are divided into parts, both sound insulation covers
The space K as shown in FIG. 7 does not occur at the joint with 5,15. An elastic packing (not shown) made of rubber or the like extending along the width direction of the sound insulating cover may be compressibly interposed in the space M interposed between the lower end of the shielding plate 7 and the upper end of the shielding plate 17. . At this time, end face superposition of the sound absorbing material 6 and the filler 16 may be omitted. The width of the sound insulation covers 5 and 15 may be substantially equal to the width S of the cylinder block 1 and the oil pan 2 as shown in FIG. 5A.
As shown in FIG. 5, the width L may be longer than the cylinder block 1 and the rear wall 1b of the oil pan 2.

In addition, the connecting mechanism 20 shown as another example in FIG.
A plurality of bolts 21 whose heads are fixed to the inner side of the bottom of each are projected to the outside, and a plurality of mounting holes that fit into each of the bolts 21 are opened on the upper outside of the shielding plate 17 on the tip side of the sound insulating cover. An elastic packing 23 made of rubber or the like, which is fixed to the lower end of the connecting member 22 extending to the width and further extends to the width of the sound insulation cover interposed between the overlapping surfaces of both the shielding plates 7 and 17, an elastic ring 24 made of rubber or the like, and a flat washer. It is designed such that the nut 25 can be detachably tightened via 26. In the case of this example, an elastic packing in which the shield plate 7 and the shield plate 17 are interposed between both plates.
Since both sound insulation covers 5 and 15 are in a continuous state by being superposed in a compressed state through 23, the sound insulation cover 5 on the cylinder block 1 side and the sound insulation cover 15 on the oil pan 2 side are separated for each part as in the previous example. Even in the case of division, the space K as shown in FIG. 7 does not occur at the joint between the sound insulation covers 5 and 15.

Moreover, since the cylinder block side wall and the oil pan side wall are covered with the connected both sound insulation covers, the noise of the cylinder block and the oil pan can be insulated. Moreover, since both sound insulation covers are joined so as to be in a continuous state, there is no gap at the connecting portion, and the leakage of noise from there can be completely prevented.

Further, the first sound insulation cover for covering the side wall of the cylinder block is fixed only to a position above the skirt of the side wall of the cylinder block where the vibration is relatively small, and the side wall of the oil pan is covered only for the lower end of the first sound insulation cover. By connecting the second sound-insulating covers and supporting both sound-insulating covers, it is possible to avoid supporting them at the position of the skirt portion or the oil pan of the cylinder block where the vibration is large.

In addition, since the contact between the both side walls and both sound insulation covers is cut off by making a gap between both side walls and both sound insulation covers, the sound insulation effect can be further improved. Since it is an open gap, there is also an effect that the heat of the engine can be efficiently radiated from this gap.
