Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable coating with a spatula at the time of repair work of an assembled wax pattern and to drastically shorten the time for correction by mixing grease into molten wax, returning the molten wax to ordinary temp. and using the mixture as the wax for repair. CONSTITUTION:The molten wax is used and the grease is mixed under stirring therein in a constant temp. oven in such a manner that the ratio of the wax to the grease attains 7:3. The mixture is made into a round bar and is extruded to form a round wire. For example, the round wire of the wax for repair is pressed by hand to the outer peripheral edge coupling the blade and boss part of an impeller for a pump formed in the wax pattern assembly in order to form an arc surface and is then applied by a spatula to obtain a desired shape. A proper amt. of the round wire of the wax for repair is pushed by hand into the recessed part of the recessed flaw part on the outside surface of the blade and is applied by the spatula to a uniform surface.

In the wax method, a mold release agent is applied to the inner surface of a wax model molding die, and then wax containing paraffin, hydrocarbon resin and the like is applied at a pressure of 7 to 12 kgf / cm 2 by a metal mold. Inject it into the mold to make a wax model. After the required assembly, the wax model is repeatedly coated by dipping it in the slurry and stuccoing (spraying refractory particles on the surface of the wax model that has been melted from the slurry). The wax model subjected to the coating operation is dried, subjected to a processing suitable for either the solid mold method or the ceramic shell mold method, and then dewaxed to form a mold.

After the mold is fired, it is poured into a mold to obtain a precision cast product. In such a brazing method, the brazing model is taken out from the mold, the brazing model is assembled, and then the repair work is performed. Taking a turbine blade as an example, in order to give a predetermined arc (small diameter) to the outer peripheral edge of the joint between the turbine blade and the boss, a mixture of grease and machine oil is brushed several times, The repair work to obtain the circular arc shape is indispensable.

After pressing the round wire of the above-mentioned repair wax by hand to make an arc surface of 0.2 R (design value) on the outer peripheral edge of the connection between the blade and the boss portion of the impeller for a pump having the wax model assembled. I applied a spatula. The desired shape was obtained with a few spatula applications. Also, the concave scratches on the outer surface of the blade were made to have a uniform surface by manually pressing an appropriate amount of round wire of repair wax into the recesses and applying a spatula. The wax model subjected to the repair work was subjected to a normal work following the next coating work, and then a mold was obtained.
The impeller cast using this mold had the shape as designed.

The wax-to-grease ratio is preferably 7: 3, but depending on the hardness of the repair wax, 5: 5 to 9
It is appropriately selected from the ratio of 1 to 1. It is recommended to use hard wax for repairing plate-shaped or runners, and soft wax for large ones.
