(Prior Art) An electric grinder is an electric tool that is hand-held for grinding and polishing work, and is commonly used in metal engraving, do-it-yourself, etc. in addition to general machine factories. In an electric grinder, generally, a disc-shaped grindstone piece is detachably attached by a chuck, and a metal mounting shaft is fixed to the grindstone piece. When performing finishing polishing with an electric grinder, instead of a whetstone piece,
A disc-shaped felt piece impregnated with an abrasive is used, and the mounting shaft is also fixed to the felt piece.

(Problems to be solved by the invention) As a finish polishing member for an electric grinder, it is difficult to manufacture a disc-shaped felt piece having a fixed mounting shaft and having a small diameter, and it is possible to consume several pieces in one finish polishing. It is normal. In particular, in order to finish-polish the inner wall surface of the member to be processed, a thin rod-shaped felt piece is required, and the felt piece is relatively expensive and usually lacks in durability.

The present invention has been proposed in order to improve the above-mentioned problems relating to the felt piece for finish polishing attached to an electric grinder or the like, and is relatively inexpensive and easy to finish polish the inner wall surface of the hole of the workpiece. The purpose is to provide fiber chips.

(Means for Solving the Problems) In order to achieve the above object, in the fiber chip 1 for finish polishing according to the present invention, a bundle of relatively long fibers 2 aligned in the longitudinal direction is formed into a thermosetting or reactive resin. The solution is adhered and heat-formed into a predetermined thickness and shape to form the bar material 3 having fine pores. The fibers used in the present invention are filaments or staples such as acrylic fibers, nylon fibers, and wool, and the fineness is preferably 1 to 30 denier. On the other hand, the resin solution used is a thermosetting or reactive resin that does not remelt after curing, and examples thereof include urethane resin, phenol resin, epoxy resin, rack and rosin, which are attached by dipping, coating or spraying. The bar material 3 thus obtained is usually formed into a thickness of 1 to 10 mm and a length of 20 to 50 mm, and can be processed into any shape as shown in FIG. The bar material 3 is dipped in an emulsion containing the abrasive 4 and oil and fat to impregnate the abrasive 4 and oil to the inside. Examples of the abrasive 4 include alumina abrasive grains having an average diameter of 5 μm or less, preferably 3 μm or less, silicon carbide abrasive grains, diamond abrasive grains, boron nitride abrasive grains, and the like. Alternatively, a fatty acid such as stearic acid which is the main component may be used.

(Operation) The fiber chip 1 according to the present invention has fine pores in its entirety by adhering and curing a resin solution to a bundle of relatively long fibers aligned in the longitudinal direction, but wear resistance in the diametrical direction. And the bending strength is high, and it is less likely to bend when finishing polishing the peripheral wall. This fiber chip 1
Holds a proper amount of the polishing material 4 and the oil and fat on the surface and inside, so that the inner wall surface of the hole of the workpiece 5 and the like can be well finished and polished by dry polishing.

To manufacture the bar material 3 for fiber chips, a filament bundle of 7-denier acrylic fibers 2 aligned in the longitudinal direction is immersed in a thermosetting resin solution such as urethane resin.
This filament bundle is cured from resin through a heating nozzle (not shown), molded into a circular cross section with a density of about 0.3 g / cm 3 and a diameter of 3 mm, and then cut into an appropriate length. After this,
As shown in FIG. 1, both ends are ground to a round shape to form a bar material 3 having fine pores, if desired. The bar material may be 2.4 mm, 3 mm, or 6 mm in diameter depending on the inner diameter of the chuck of the electric grinder, and can be made longer if the diameter is large. Next, the emulsion in which the bar material 3 is dipped is produced by emulsifying the abrasive 4 which is an alumina abrasive grain having an average diameter of 1 μm and stearic acid in water with a surfactant. Bar material 3
Is dipped in the above emulsion for several minutes to impregnate the inside thereof with the abrasive 4 and oil and fat, and finally dried to obtain the fiber chip 1

The fiber chip 1 may be attached to a chuck of a desired electric grinder, and the chuck has a structure as shown in FIG. 2, for example. The inner cylindrical portion 7 of the chuck 6 has an elongated slit 8 so that its inner diameter is variable, and its upper outer peripheral surface 9 is tapered. The outer cylindrical portion 10 has a tapered inner peripheral surface 11 that contacts the outer peripheral surface 9 of the inner cylindrical portion 7,
A female screw surface 13 is provided which is engaged with the male screw surface of the fixed cylinder portion 12 which is installed on the inner cylinder portion 7. The lower part 1a of the fiber chip 1 is connected to the inner cylinder part 7
When the outer tube portion 10 is rotated after being inserted into the outer tube portion, the outer tube portion retracts along the screw surfaces 12 and 13, and the inner tube portion 7 is tightened via the contact taper surfaces 9 and 11, and the fiber tip 1 can be detachably fixed to the electric grinder. Move this electric grinder to insert the fiber chip 1 into the hole 14 of the workpiece 5 to be processed,
The inner wall surface of the hole 14 may be finished and polished by the peripheral surface. If the peripheral surface of the bar is worn away by the polishing operation, it is possible to replace the bar and polish the lower portion 1a.

In a modification of the present invention shown in FIG. 3, each fiber chip is manufactured by grinding a bar material into a predetermined shape after heat molding. In the fiber chip 20 of FIG. 3 (1), the chuck mounting part
The polishing parts 22 and 23 are thinner than 21. Fiber chips 20
Is useful for polishing a hole smaller than the chuck inner diameter, and the polishing section may have only one stage. In the fiber chip 24 of FIG. 3 (2), the polishing portion 26 is thicker than the chuck mounting portion 25, which is useful when forming the polishing portion 26 having a thickness not corresponding to the chuck inner diameter. In the fiber chip 27 of FIG. 3 (3), the polishing portion 29 other than the chuck mounting portion 28 has an arcuate vertical cross section, which is useful when polishing the curved inner peripheral wall of the hole.
In the fiber chip 30 of FIG. 3 (4), the polishing portion 32 has a larger diameter than the chuck mounting portion 31, and in addition to the hole inner peripheral wall, the polishing portion 32
Countersunk holes can be polished by the upper end surface 33 of 32. If the upper end surface 33 is flat, not only the inner peripheral wall of the hole but also a flat surface can be polished.

(Effect of the Invention) The fiber chip according to the present invention has a resin solution adhered and cured on a relatively long bundle of fibers and holds an appropriate amount of the abrasive and fat on the surface and inside thereof, so that the peripheral wall of the fiber chip can be finished and polished. Less likely to be bent at the waist, polishing performance and durability are almost the same as those of disc-shaped felt pieces to which the mounting shaft is fixed,
It can be sufficiently applied as a finish polishing member for an electric grinder or the like. This fiber chip is much cheaper than a disc-shaped felt piece to which a mounting shaft is fixed, and as a disposable polishing member, the expense for one finish polishing operation can be reduced. This fiber chip can particularly finish and polish the inner wall surface of the hole of the member to be processed, and can be used for polishing the inner circumference of the hole of metal or wood in metal engraving or do-it-yourself or in glasswork and plastic model production.
