Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a paper feeder which can prevent paper from being fed improperly and its periphery from becoming dirty due to paper power and which permits any paper thickness. CONSTITUTION:A supporting element 1 is provided with protruding pieces 11 which face each other at a regular interval. Paper feeding members 2 are constituted of an elastic member and are provided with paper contact parts 21 and supporting pieces 22. Contact surfaces 211 on which the paper contact parts are brought into contact with paper are ford, and the supporting pieces 22 are mounted at a prescribed interval so as to face both sides of the paper contact parts 21 which face each other. A combination with the supporting element 1 is formed so as to hold the supporting piece between the protruding pieces 11. D1<D2 is set so as to be satisfied, where an inner interval D1 between the protruding pieces before holding is taken as D1 and an outer interval between the supporting pieces 22 is taken as D2.

However, the conventional paper feeding device has the following problems. (A) Since the paper feeding member is made of low hardness rubber,
The contact area with the paper is small. For this reason, a paper feed failure is likely to occur. (B) Since the paper feeding member is made of low hardness rubber,
When used for a long time, the paper feeding member is worn by the frictional force received from the paper. Also, paper dust adheres to the rubber surface.
For this reason, the frictional force between the paper feed member and the paper is reduced, and the paper feed becomes poor. (C) Since the paper feeding member is made of low hardness rubber,
With the passage of time, the hardness of the low hardness rubber deteriorates due to the irradiation of ultraviolet rays and ozone. For this reason, the frictional force between the paper feed member and the paper is reduced, and the paper feed becomes poor. (D) Since a strong frictional force acts on the paper contact surface, the paper peels off and paper dust is generated, which stains the surrounding area. (E) Since the paper feeding member is made of low hardness rubber,
If the thickness of the paper exceeds a predetermined value, the paper cannot be fed unless it is used in combination with other means.

When the paper feeding member has elasticity and the inner distance between the projecting pieces before the nipping is D1 and the outer distance between the supporting pieces is D2, D1 <D2 is satisfied, so that the paper feeding member is used. The supporting piece of the member is pressed by the protruding piece, and the paper contact portion rises to the outside. Therefore, when the paper is fed, the paper contact portion is deeply crushed and the area of contact with the paper is increased. Therefore, the paper is reliably fed.
