Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily produce an inorg. plate having fine embossed patterns at a predetermined place on the surface thereof by sprinkling particles over the predetermined place on the surface of a mold and sprinkling an inorg. material thereon to form a mat and pressing the mat by mold clamping to age and cure the same to transfer the particles to the surface of the cured mat. CONSTITUTION:Sand 5 being a particulate material is sprinkled over the surface having embossed patterns formed thereto of the template 1 fixed on a caul plate 2. The template 1 is placed on a vibration conveyor 6 along with the caul plate 2 to be vibrated and the sand 5 falls in the recessed part of the surface 1A of the template 1. Subsequently, an inorg. plate material composed of cement, silica sand, pearlite, wood pieces and water is scattered over the template to form a mat 7 constituted of a low density rear layer 7B mixed with coarse wood pieces and a high density surface layer 7A mixed with fine wood pieces. The mat 7 is pressed by clamping and aged and cured to be demolded. The sand 5 is transferred to the surface of the cured mat 17A. Therefore, an inorg. plate having fine embossed patterns on the surface thereof at a predetermined place is obtained by a reduced number of processes.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, in order to produce an inorganic plate having a fine irregular pattern on the surface as described above, a base coat layer (adhesive layer) is formed on the surface of a substrate having irregularities, and when the base coat layer is undried. Only the base coat layer existing on the top surface of the convex portion is removed, and then the granular material is sprayed on the surface of the base material to remove the particles not fixed by the base coat layer, and then the cosmetic coating film is formed only on the top surface of the convex portion. Then, a method of applying an overcoat is provided (Japanese Patent Publication No. 60-296).

In the present invention, since the granular material is previously sprayed at the predetermined places on the mold surface as described above, when the mat of the inorganic plate material mixture is pressed and hardened by compression, the mat cured product is obtained. The granular material bites and transfers to the surface. In this way, an inorganic plate in which the granular material is transferred to predetermined places on the surface is produced, but the inorganic plate may be coated if desired.
