Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 技術分野 本発明は中央計算機と、中央計算機メイン・メモリと、
中央計算機大容量メモリと、複数個の周辺データベース
・メモリを有する分散データベース・システムにおい
て、周辺データベース・メモリの各々の内容のバックア
ップ・コピーを中央計算機大容量メモリ中に生成する方
法に関する。
発明の背景 どのようなデータベース・システムにあつてもシステム
中の記憶された情報の内容のバックアップ・コピー、即
ちダンプを周期的に生成することが必要とされる。これ
はデータベース中の記憶された情報が典型例では時間と
共に変化することによる。ある時点におけるデータベー
スの内容のバックアップ・コピーがあれば、データベー
スを駄目にするような障害が生じた場合、バックアップ
をとった時点において存在した状態にデータベースを戻
すことが出来る。
データベースのバックアップをとる古典的な方法は、デ
ータベースに対する変更を禁止し、次いでデータベース
の情報全体を直接バックアップ・ディスクまたはテープ
の如き大容量メモリ上にコピーするようなシステム状態
を形成する方法である。不幸にして、多くの型のデータ
ベースにあっては、この方法を用いるとエーザがシステ
ムを利用出来なくなるという大きな欠点が生じる。例え
ば、カウニツツおよびエカートの“データベースのバッ
クアップ……極めて大規模なデータベースの問題点”と
題するオーストラリアン・コンピュータ・ジャーナル、
第１３巻、第４号（１９８１年１１月）の論文による
と、１０億バイト以上のデータベースのバックアップを
とるのに必要な時間および資源はデータベースのユーザ
にとって大きな問題となっている。
分散データベースのバックアップが単一の資源、例えば
ディスク上で生成される場合には小さな分散データベー
ス・システムでも類似の問題が生じ得る。分散データベ
ース間の通信チャネルが低速であるかまたは輻輳してい
ると、各々のデータベース・サイトの全バックアップを
とるのに必要な時間は大規模な中央化されたデータベー
スの場合と同程度となり得る。従って、古典的なダンプ
法には固有の欠点が存在することになる。
カウニツツおよびエカートの前述の論文はデータベース
のバックアップの問題点を解決するために提案された幾
つかの技法について調査を行っている。この論文による
と、あるシステムでは手間のかかる動的バックアップ機
構を提供しており、それによつてデータベースのバック
アップは通常のユーザ処理（データベース情報の変更を
含む）と並行して行えるようになっている。この技法に
あっては、所定の時刻に完了したバックアップは通常デ
ータベースの完全な状態を表わしていないので、バック
アップ・ファイルから再ロードされたデータベースを論
理的に矛盾のない完全な状態にするため他の手段を使用
しなければならない。これを行う典型的な方法は変更が
生じたときにデータベースに対する監査痕跡を保持する
ことである。バックアップ・ファイルからデータベース
を再ロードした後、バックアップ・ファイルをとった初
期の時点からデータベースに障害が生じた時点まで監査
痕跡を再処理する必要がある。次いで障害が生じた時点
において進行中であつた変更を何らかの操作により取除
かねばならない。明らかにこれは費用のかかる複雑な方
法である。
カウニツツおよびエカートはまた古典的なバックアップ
技法に対する代案として差分バックアップ法について言
及している。データベースは多数の一定の大きさのペー
ジより成るものと見做されている。最初にデータベース
の完全なバックアップがとられる。その後、データベー
スに対する変更がなされるときに影響を受けたページに
従ってビット・インディケーションがビツト・マップ中
に加えられる。その結果としてビット・マップにより示
される変更を受けたページのみをセーブすることにより
バックアップ差分ファイルが生成される。この差分バッ
クアップ・ファイルは最後の差分バックアップ後に変化
したページで周期的に更新される。ある時点において、
差分バックアップ・ファイルは完全なバックアップ・フ
ァイルとマージされるか、または新しい完全なバックア
ップがとられる。
前述の差分法はまたある問題が存在する。第１に別個の
差分バックアップ・ファイルが完全なバックアップ・フ
ァイルに加えて保持されていなければならないことであ
る。データベースを再構築しなければならない場合、完
全なバックアップを再ロードして、次いで差分ファイル
とマージしなければならない。第２に、バックアップ処
理の期間中システムは更新できないことになる。
発明の概略 前述の問題点は本発明に従い、周辺データベース・メモ
リの各々の内容のバックアップ・コピーを生成する方法
により解決される。本方法は周辺メモリの各々に対し第
１の更新パスを１回またはそれ以上逐次実行し、第１の
パスは該第１のパスの実行期間中に所定の時刻において
バックアップがとられている周辺メモリに対する更新変
更を許容する状態を形成することを含み、所定の時刻に
おいてバックアップがとられている周辺メモリのすべて
の変更を逐次中央計算機に、次いで大容量メモリに送信
し、各々の周辺メモリ上で第２の更新パスを逐次実行さ
せ、該第２のパスは所定の時刻において更新されている
周辺メモリに対する更新変更を許容しない状態を形成す
ることを含み、最後に第１のパスを実行した後にバック
アップのとられている周辺メモリに対してなされたすべ
ての付加的変更を中央計算機に、そして大容量メモリに
逐次送信するステップより成る。
本発明の好ましき実施例を個々のデータベースと中央プ
ロセッサの間の低速通信チヤネルを含む分散データベー
ス・システムに関して示す。このシステムはバックアッ
プを生成するのに必要な時間に関しては、バックアップ
時間が問題となり得る大きなデータベースと等価である
と見做すことが出来る。２つのパスが好ましき実施例で
は実行される。個々のデータベースは各パスの期間中に
逐次バックアップがとられる。所定の時刻においてバッ
クアップのとられる個々のデータベースは最後のパスの
期間中変更に対してロックされる。これにより分散デー
タベースが全体として、バックアップをとるのに必要な
ほとんど全時間期間中にあっても、ユーザの利用を可能
とすることが保証される。
図面の簡単な説明 第１図は本発明を実現するのに使用される中央プロセッ
サおよび１つまたはそれ以上の交換機モジュールを含む
計算機制御された分散電話システムのブロック図、第２
図は交換機モジュールと関連するデータベース・メモリ
をページに分割する仕方、ならびにメモリのバックアッ
プ・コピーを最後に生成して後に修正されたメモリのペ
ージを記録するためのビット・マップの使用法を示す
図、 第３図はバックアップ生成期間中に中央プロセッサを制
御するのに使用されるメイン・バックアップ・プログラ
ムのフローチャート、 第４図は第３図のメイン・プログラムによって呼び出さ
れるバックアップ・サブルーチンの詳細なフローチャー
ト、 第５図は交換機モジュールの各々にあるメモリ中に存在
するバックアップ・プログラムの詳細なフローチャー
ト、第６図は交換機モジュールによつてバックアップ・
プロセス期間中に中央プロセッサに送信された差分バッ
クアップ・メッセージのフォーマットである。
詳細な説明 第１図は分散配置されたNo.５電子交換電話システムの
簡単化されたブロック図である。このシステムは本発明
の原理を説明するのに使用される。基本的にはこのシス
テムは１つの中央プロセッサ１００と１つまたはそれ以
上の交換機モジュール１０２−１〜１０２−Ｎより成
る。図示のシステムにおいて、中央プロセッサ１００は
一般に市販されるプロセッサである。このプロセッサは
資源の割当て、保守および記録保存のための操作支援シ
ステムとのインタフェース等々を含む中央化知的処理を
必要とする機能を実行する。
中央プロセッサ１００は交換機モジュール、メッセージ
交換機１０４および時分割多重交換機１０６に接続され
ている。メッセージ交換機１０４は中央プロセッサ１０
０と交換機モジュールの間ならびに交換機モジュール自
身の間の制御メッセージの経路を決定する。これらのメ
ッセージは時分割多重交換機１０６を通って運ばれる。
交換機モジュール１０２は殆んどの呼処理機能を提供す
るマイクロプロセッサにより制御されたユニットであ
る。該モジュールはシステムと電話機１０８ならびにト
ランク１１０の間のインタフェースを提供する。各々の
交換機モジュールは交換機の第１ステージの機能を実行
するタイムスロット入替えユニットを含んでいる。複数
個の交換機モジュールの接続が時分割多重交換機１０６
によって提供される。
中央プロセッサ１００はランダム・アクセス・メモリ１
１２と関連しており、このメモリの１部はＣＰデータベ
ース１１４となっている。このデータベースはＣＰ１０
０によって実行される機能に対する中央化されたアクセ
スを要求する交換局に依存するデータおよび利用者デー
タの如き項目を含んでいる。交換機モジュール１０２−
１〜１０２−Ｎの各々はまた別個のランダム・アクセス
・メモリ１１６−１〜１１６−Ｎと関連しており、その
メモリの一部は交換機モジュール・データベース（ＳＭ
ＤＢ）１１８−１〜１１８−Ｎとなっている。このＳＭ
ＤＢは典型例では電話機およびトランク端子の如き交換
機モジュールに個有の交換局に依存するデータならびに
交換機モジュール（ＳＭ）によってサービスを受けてい
る電話機に特有のデータを含んでいる。ＣＰデータベー
ス１１４およびＳＭデータベース１１８はシステムの分
散配置されたデータベースを構成している。
ＣＰ１００はまたディスク・メモリ１０３と関連してお
り、該メモリは分散配置されたデータベースの最も最近
のバックアップ・コピーを記憶するのに使用される。
各々のＳＭメモリ１１６の他の部分はビット・マップ１
２０である。ＳＭデータベース１１８は任意の一定の大
きさのページに概念的に分割されている。図示の実施例
ではページは１２８バイトの長さを有している。利用者
が起呼を行うような変更がＳＭＤＢ１１８に対してなさ
れるとき、“１”がこの変更を含むページを規定するビ
ット位置の適当なビット・マップ中に加えられる。この
様子が第２図に示されている。即ち図ではワードＯ〜Ｐ
を有するビット・マップが示されており、各々は１０ビ
ットを有するものと仮定している。ビットマップの右側
にはＳＭＤＢのページ・レイアウトが示されている。図
示の如く、ビツトマップの第１のビットはデータベース
のページ０と関連している。ワードＯの最右端のビット
はページ９と関連しており、これは“１”にセットされ
ているが、それによって最後のバックアップ・コピーが
とられた後にページ９が変更されたことを示している。
以下で述べるプログラム制御機能は簡潔を旨とし理解を
助けるため単純化している。例えば第３〜５図のフロー
チャートは当業者にあっては周知のプログラムのフロー
中の実時間ブレークの如き事項は無視して描いている。
データベースのバックアップは周期的（例えば１日１
回）に実行しても良いし、例えばシステムの操作者から
の要求に応じて実行しても良い。いずれの場合でもバッ
クアップを開始するために第３図のＣＰ１００のプログ
ラム・アドレスＳＴＡＲＴに入ることになる。STARTは
バックアップ制御プログラムである。基本的には該プロ
グラムは交換局内の各々のＳＭ１０２に対し第４図に示
すバックアップ・サブルーチンの連続的実行を制御す
る。交換局のすべてのＳＭにおいてバックアップ・サブ
ルーチンが完了する毎に、１つのパスが完了したと言わ
れる。少なくとも２つのパスを、そして必要に応じてそ
れ以上のパスを実行することが可能である。本発明に従
い、ＳＭデータベース１１８中において変更が生じるこ
とが許容され、最後のパスを除くすべてのパスの期間中
にバックアップが実行される。その結果、多数の変更が
ＣＰ１００、従ってディスク１０３に送信されることが
期待される初期のパスの期間中、ＳＭＤＢ１１８は尚変
更し得る状態にある。最後のパスの期間中、直前のパス
以後に（もし存在するならば）ＳＭデータベースに生じ
た2,3の変更を送信するのに要求される極めて短い時間
期間だけＳＭデータベースの変更のロックアウトが生じ
る。変更されたページが各々のＳＭＤＢから逐次送信さ
れるので、１つのパス期間中に既に検査されたページ位
置のＳＭデータベース（例えば１１８−１）に対して生
起する変更は該データベース上において次のパス期間中
にバックアップされる。
図示のシステムにあっては２つのパスを用いるなら変更
のロックアウト時間を満足すべき値に減少させることが
分っているが、第３図には説明の便宜上３つのバックア
ップ・パス１〜３が示されている。第３図において、ス
テップ３００はパス・インディケータをパス１にセット
する。ステップ３０２および３０４は該パスがすべての
ＳＭ上で実行されるまで交換局の各々のＳＭに対しバッ
クアップ・サブルーチンBACKUPを逐次呼び出す。この時
点でステップ３０６、３０８および３１０はパス２をす
べてのＳＭ上で実行し、パス１の期間中には遅く到着し
たため含められなかったＳＭデータベースに対する変更
をバックアップする。本発明に従い、ステップ３１０に
よってバックアップされた変更の数はステップ３０４に
よってバックアップされた変更の数よりずっと少ない。
ステップ３１０がすべてのＳＭ上で実行された後、ステ
ップ３１２はパス・インディケータをパス３にセットす
る。ステップ３１３はＣＰメモリ１１２中のインディケ
ータをセットしてＣＰデータベース１１４に対する変更
をロックアウトする。これを行う理由は、あるＣＰデー
タベース変更は関連する変更をＳＭデータベース中で生
じさせるためである。パス３のバックアップを実行して
いるＳＭに対しては変更は許容されないので、ＣＰデー
タベースに対する変更もまた禁止されねばならない。
ステップ３１４および３１６はこれによりＳＭ１０２の
各々に対しバックアップ・サブルーチンを逐次実行す
る。最後のＳＭが完了したとき、ステップ３１８はＣＰ
データベース全体をディスク１０３にコピーすることに
よりＣＰデータベース１１４をバックアップする。ＣＰ
データベースとＣＰ１００の間には低速通信チャネルが
存在せず、ただ１つのＣＰデータベースが存在するのみ
なので、各パスにおいてＣＰデータベースをバックアッ
プする必要はない。ディスク１０３中にＣＰデータベー
スのバックアップを生成する速度は本実施例にあっては
極めて長い時間変更をロックアウトしない程十分速い。
しかし、事情が許す場合にはこの問題を回避するために
各パスにおいてＣＰバックアップを生成し得ることに注
意されたい。
ＣＰデータベースのバックアップが完了した後、ステッ
プ３２０はメモリ１１２中のＣＰロック・インディケー
ションをリセットすることによりデータベースのロック
を解除する。この時点でバックアップは完了する。この
時点で存在するＣＰデータベースのコピーおよび各々の
データベース上にパス３の完了時点で存在した各ＳＭデ
ータベースのコピーがディスク１０３中に存在すること
になる。
第４図はＣＰ１００の動作を制御するBACKUPサブルーチ
ンの詳細を示している。ステップ４００はパス３が進行
中かどうかを決定する。もし進行中でないと、更新ロッ
クアップは動作せず、ステップ４０２によりＣＰ１００
はバックアップ警報メッセージをＳＭに送信し、該ＳＭ
上でこのパスが実行される。この警報メッセージはパス
１および２に対する“ロック解除”フラグを含んでい
る。他方、パス３が実行されていると、ステップ４０４
は“ロック”フラグを含む警報メッセージをＳＭに送信
する。第５図はＣＰ１００からの制御メッセージに応動
してＳＭ１０２中のマイクロプロセッサを制御するプロ
グラムの詳細を示している。アドレス指定されているＳ
Ｍ１０２中のステップ５０４はＣＰ１００からの警報メ
ッセージを認識する。ステップ５０６はデータベースの
変更をロックアウトする要求を警報メッセージが含んで
いるか否かを決定する。もし含んでいる場合には、ステ
ップ５０８はロックアウト状態とする。いずれの場合で
も、ステップ５１０は次にパスを開始させる準備がすべ
て整ったというアクノリジ（ＡＣＫ）メッセージをＣＰ
１００に返送する。
ＣＰ１００のプログラム中のステップ４０６はＡＣＫメ
ッセージの受信を認識し、それによってステップ４０８
によりバックアップ開始メッセージをＳＭに送信する。
再び第５図に戻ると、ステップ５０２は開始メッセージ
を認識する。これに応動してステップ５１２はビット・
マップ探索ポインタをセットしてビット・マップの始め
から開始させる如きある種の初期化機能を実行する。ス
テップ５１４は第２図に示すビット・マップの探索を開
始させ、ページの変更を示す次の“１”の位置を見出
す。“１”が見出されないと、ステップ５１６および５
３０により“終了”フラグがセットされたメッセージを
発生し、ＣＰ１００に送信する。ステップ５３４はＣＰ
１００からのこれに応動したＡＣＫメッセージを探索
し、該メッセージが受信されるとSMSTARTプログラム動
作を終了させる。他方、最初の“１”が見出されたもの
と仮定すると、ステップ５２０はビット・マップ中の
“１”の位置を適当なＳＭデータベース１１８中のペー
ジ・アドレスに翻訳する。ステップ５２２は、ビットマ
ップ中の“１”をクリアする。ステップ５２８は最初の
“１”と関連するページを“０”にセットされた終了フ
ラグ（未終了の状態を表わす）と共にＣＰ１００に送信
する。ステップ５３２はＣＰ１００からのアクノリジ
（ＡＣＫ）メッセージを待機し、ＡＣＫメッセージが受
信されるとビット・マップ中の次の“１”の位置を決め
るためにステップ５１４に戻る。この過程はビット・マ
ップ中に示すすべての変更されたページがＣＰ１００に
送信されるまで継続される。
ＳＭバックアップ・プログラムに関する以上の記述は実
際に好ましいと考えられるプログラムより幾分簡単化し
てある。第１図で述べた特定のシステムにあっては、第
５図に示すように１時に１ページではなく、ＣＰからの
アクノリジ（ＡＣＫ）メッセージを待機することなく１
時に５ページまでの変更されたページをＣＰ１００に送
信する方が効率的である。しかしこれは特定のシステム
環境に応じて変化するものであり、第５図を適当に修正
したものも当業者にあっては容易に考案し得る。
第４図に示すＣＰ１００のプログラムを再び参照する
と、ステップ４１０はあるパス中でそのとき活性状態に
あるＳＭから変更されたページの伝送を受信する。ステ
ップ４１１はＡＣＫメッセージに応動してアクノリジメ
ント（ＡＣＫ）メッセージをＳＭに返送する。ステップ
４１２はメッセージ中の“終了”フラグをテストし、こ
のＳＭに対するこのパスにおいてバックアップが完了し
たかどうかを決定する。フラグがセットされていない
と、メッセージは１ページのデータを含んでいることに
なる。ステップ４１４はディスク１０３上に存在する以
前のバックアップ・コピー中にそのページをマージす
る。次にこのＳＭに対する処理はステップ４１０に戻
る。他方、ステップ４２４はこのとき完了したＳＭにデ
ータベース更新ロック解除メッセージを送信する。この
メッセージは第５図のＳＭプログラムのステップ５００
でデコードされ、ステップ５０１によりＳＭデータベー
スに対する変更のロックが解除される。このステップは
実際には最後のパス（パス３）に対してのみ有効であ
る。何故ならばそれ以前のパスに対しては更新は既にロ
ックが解除されているからである。
再び第４図に戻ると、ステップ４２６においてＣＰ１０
０バックアップ・サブルーチンはロック解除メッセージ
の送信後メイン・プログラム中のステップ３０４、３１
０または３１６の適当な点に戻る。
以上述べたことより、ＳＭデータベース１１８はバック
アップの全期間を通じてユーザによる更新が可能である
ことが理解されよう。最後のパス（パス３）の期間中に
おいてさえ、バックアップされつつあるＳＭデータベー
スのみが更新に対してロックされている。更に、差分バ
ックアップ、即ち変更されたページのみを送信し、差分
更新を恒久バックアップ・ディスク・コピー中にマージ
することにより処理に必要なデータ量は従来の全コピー
法に比べ大幅に減する。
前述の装置は単に本発明の原理の応用例を示すものであ
り、当業者にあっては本発明の精神および範囲を逸脱す
ることなく他の装置を考案し得ることを理解されたい。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】中央計算機と、中央計算機メイン・メモリ
    と、中央計算機大容量メモリと、複数の周辺データベー
    ス・メモリとを有する分数データベース・システムにお
    いて、中央計算機大容量メモリ中に、各々の周辺データ
    ベース・メモリの内容のバックアップ・コピーを生成す
    る方法であって、該方法は 変更がなされているとき周辺メモリの記憶された内容に
    変更の表示をセットし、 周辺メモリの各々に対し複数のバックアップ・パスを実

    行し、該最後のパスは 所定の時刻にそのとき更新されている周辺メモリへの更
    新変更を禁止し、および 該大容量メモリへの最後のパスの開始時に存在すると表
    示されバックアップされつつある周辺メモリに対してす
    べての変更箇所を送信することを含む、 各ステップを含むことを特徴とする方法。
  2. 【請求項２】請求の範囲第１項に記載の方法において、 該周辺メモリの各々が予め定められた大きさのページに
    区分されており、表示をセットするステップが、更に該
    周辺メモリ中に含まれ、該周辺メモリ中のページに相応
    するビット・マップ中のビットを予め定められた状態に
    セットして該ページの変更を示すことを含むことを特徴
    とする方法。
  3. 【請求項３】請求の範囲第２項に記載の方法において、 変更状態を送信する該ステップは更に、 第１の予め定めされた状態にセットされた次のビットを
    見出すべくビット・マップを逐次走査し、 見出された次のビットを第２の予め定められた状態にセ
    ットし、 該ビットにより指定された周辺メモリのページの内容を
    大容量メモリに送信することを含むことを特徴とする方
    法。
  4. 【請求項４】請求の範囲第３項に記載の方法において、 ビット・マップを逐次走査する該ステップは更に、 第１の予め定められた状態にセットされたビットの位置
    を見出した後、そのすぐ次のビット・アドレスにおいて
    ビット・マップの逐次走査を再開し、相応するページを
    中央計算機に送信することを含むことを特徴とする方
    法。
  5. 【請求項５】中央計算機と、中央計算機メイン・メモリ
    と、中央計算機大容量メモリと、複数の周辺データベー
    ス・メモリとを有する分散データベース・システムにお
    いて、中央計算機大容量メモリに、各々の周辺データベ
    ース・メモリのバックアップコピーを生成する方法であ
    って、該方法は Ａ．該周辺メモリにおいて情報が変更されているとき、
    周辺データベース・メモリの各々についての変更表示の
    記録をそれぞれの周辺データベース・メモリにおいて維
    持し、 Ｂ．中央計算機による要求に応動して該記録におけるい
    ずれかの表示を逐次位置づけ、追加の変更を周辺メモリ
    のすべてのものにおいて生じさせながら関連した変更箇
    所を周辺メモリのうちの１つのものから中央計算機に、
    次いで大容量メモリへと送信し、 Ｃ．各関連した変更箇所が中央計算機に送信されている
    とき、記録中の変更表示をクリヤし、 Ｄ．残りの周辺メモリの各々についてステップＢおよび
    Ｃを繰り返し、 Ｅ．ステップＤの完了時に、Ｂ、ＣおよびＤのステップ
    を０回又は１回又はそれ以上の回数繰り返し、 Ｆ．ステップＥの完了時に、周辺メモリの該１つのもの
    への変更を禁止し、 Ｇ．ステップＦの完了時に記録中のいずれかの表示を逐
    次位置づけ周辺メモリの該１つのものにおける関連した
    変更箇所を中央計算機に次いで大容量メモリへと送信
    し、 Ｈ．各関連した変更箇所が中央計算機に送信されている
    とき該記録中の変更表示をクリヤし、 Ｉ．残りの周辺メモリの各々についてＦ、ＧおよびＨの
    ステップを繰り返す、 各ステップを含むことを特徴とする方法。
  6. 【請求項６】請求の範囲第５項に記載の方法において、 変更表示の該記録は、周辺メモリの相応する１つのもの
    の中の予め定められた大きさの一義的でかつ指定され得
    るページに相応した各ビットをそこにもったビツト・マ
    ップであり、そして 該記録を維持する該ステップが更に、 変更されたページに相応する記録中のビットを第１の予
    め定められた状態にセットすることを含むことを特徴と
    する方法。
  7. 【請求項７】請求の範囲第６項に記載の方法において、 ステップＢおよびＧが更に、 周辺メモリのすべてのページであって、ビット・マップ
    中のその相応するビットが第１の予め定められた状態に
    セットされている周辺メモリのすべてのページを中央計
    算機に逐次送信することを含むことを特徴とする方法。
  8. 【請求項８】請求の範囲第７項に記載の方法において、 ステップＣが更に、 該ビット・マップ中の適当なビットを第２の予め定めら
    れた状態にセットすることを含む方法。
  9. 【請求項９】請求の範囲第７項に記載の方法において、 周辺メモリのすべてのページであって、ビット・マップ
    中のその相応するビットが第１の予め定められた状態に
    セットされている周辺メモリのすべてのページを逐次送
    信するステップが更に、 該第１の予め定められた状態にセットされたビットにつ
    いてのビット・マップを逐次探索し、そして瞬時パスの
    間に先に検査され、その相応する周辺メモリが逐次変更
    を受けたビット・マップの先行するビットにかかわりな
    く、このようなビットが見出されているとき相応する周
    辺メモリページを送信することを含む方法。
  10. 【請求項１０】請求の範囲第９項に記載の方法におい
    て、更に 該第１の予め定められた状態にセットされたビット・マ
    ップ中のそのビットを有する周辺メモリの最後のページ
    が中央計算機に送信されたときに、“終了した”という
    表示を中央計算機に送信することを含む方法。
