Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an illuminator for an attracted chip component which makes illunination of a minute chip component possible by regarding a nozzle itself as an illuminating means when a chip component attracted by the nozzle is illuminated for image treatment. CONSTITUTION:The illuminator is provided with a translucent nozzle cap 21 which is set in a sucking nozzle body 20 and sucks a chip component 40, a ring-form illumination bracket 22 made of an opaque material which is supported as it surrounds the nozzle cap 21 and on inner circumerence side of which a slit 24 is formed, plural light emitting diodes 23 which are fixed to the bracket 22 and illuminates the nozzle cap 21 sideways through a slit 24. Then, the light from the light emitting diodes are reflected diffusedly by the nozzle cap 21, whereby an equivalent function to a back light is attained.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, illumination for image recognition (recognizing the state of a chip component sucked by a suction nozzle by image processing) in a chip component mounting machine is performed behind a suction nozzle that sucks a chip component. The method of arranging a reflection plate for reflecting the light and irradiating the light from the side or the bottom toward the reflection plate and the method of arranging the light emitting body itself behind the suction nozzle are roughly classified.

However, in recent years, the size of parts has become extremely small, and it has become difficult to use suction nozzles having a diameter smaller than the size of parts. If the outer shape of the tip surface of the suction nozzle extends beyond the outer shape of the suction chip component, the inside of the outer line of the tip surface of the suction nozzle also becomes a shadow, making it difficult to accurately recognize the image of the chip component.

In the illuminating device for the suction chip component of the present invention, the light emitted from the light emitting diode is laterally incident on the semitransparent nozzle cap through the slit of the annular illuminating bracket. The semi-transparent nozzle cap has a function of partially transmitting light and irregular reflection, so that it seems that the nozzle cap itself emits light in response to the light from the light emitting diode, and the chip component adsorbed on the tip surface of the nozzle cap. Against will have the same lighting effect as the backlight. Therefore, even in the case of a chip part smaller than the outer shape of the tip surface of the nozzle cap, the image of the chip part is accurately imaged by the camera, and the position, rotational posture, etc. of the chip part with respect to the center of the nozzle cap are based on the imaging result. Can be recognized.

The illuminating device 30 for the suction chip component includes a semi-transparent nozzle cap 21 that is replaceably fitted to the suction nozzle body 20, an annular illumination bracket 22 made of an opaque material such as aluminum, and the illumination bracket 22. It is composed of a plurality of fixed light emitting diodes (LEDs) 23. The nozzle cap 21 is made of translucent milky white resin or the like, and has a function of partially transmitting light and irregular reflection. A slit 24 is formed on the inner peripheral surface of the annular illumination bracket 22, and lateral light from the light emitting diode 23 is laterally applied to the nozzle cap 21 through the slit 24. An annular illumination bracket 22 having such a light emitting diode 23 mounted thereon
Is fixed to the mounting head 10 side via a support arm 25, and is arranged so that the nozzle cap 21 can be laterally irradiated with light when the suction nozzle 11 is in the raised position.

In the structure of the above embodiment, the light emitted from the light emitting diode 23 to the inside passes through the slit 24 of the annular illumination bracket 22 and the semitransparent nozzle cap 2
1 is incident from the side. The nozzle cap 21 is made of milky white (semi-transparent) resin or the like and has a function of partially transmitting light and irregular reflection, so that the nozzle cap 21 itself that holds the chip component 40 by suction as shown in FIG. 2 is bright. It emits light and has the same illumination effect as the backlight with respect to the chip component 40 adsorbed on the tip surface of the nozzle cap. As a result, as shown in FIG.
The inside of the outline seen from the bottom side of the chip component 40 has a dark shadow a
A shadow image (on the bottom surface of the chip component) having a light background b is obtained, and the position, rotation posture, etc. of the chip component 40 with respect to the center of the nozzle cap can be recognized by capturing the shadow image with a camera. In FIG. 3, φ 1 is the outer diameter of the tip surface of the nozzle cap 21, φ 2 is the outer diameter of the base of the nozzle cap 21, and the outer shape of the chip component 40 is φ.
Even if it is inside 1, the nozzle cap 21 itself shines due to irregular reflection, so that the background of the chip component 40 can be made bright. Further, even if the outer shape of the chip part 40 is larger than φ 1 as shown by the phantom line c in FIG. 3, the tapered base of the nozzle cap 21 also shines due to irregular reflection, so the background of the chip part 40 is also changed. It can be kept bright and an accurate image of the chip component 40 can be obtained.

As described above, according to the illuminating device of the suction chip component of the present invention, the semitransparent nozzle cap is substantially adopted without making the nozzle size for sucking the chip component smaller than necessary. In addition, it is possible to effectively obtain the same effect as the backlight, and it is possible to effectively illuminate the extremely small chip component, and it is possible to effectively cope with the miniaturization of the chip component. In addition, the semitransparent nozzle cap is replaceable with respect to the nozzle body, and when it becomes dirty or scratched, it can be easily replaced, and there is an advantage that the cost is low. In addition, the light emitting diode is integrated with the bracket as a light source, and the overall size can be greatly reduced.
